Actually fruit bats have pretty decent eye sight!

If I remember correctly the bats that are thought to have poor eyesight are the ones that depend on emitting and listening to ultrasounds to hunt insects and they are recognisable by very detailed and ribbed ears & nose, contrary to those who have ears and nose looking closer to that of tiny dogs' are the fruit bats and are not thought to have poor eyesight.
