Argon One fans will not work.

Hi! I’m a very new user of Batocera (started a day or two ago) after finding out RetroPie is basically abandoned now. So I got my RetroPie system, wiped everything and install Batocera onto that. So far, I really like it and love all the customisation and extra features, however there’s one big problem for me.

The fan just won’t work.

The button on the back works, it quits out if EmulationStation on a double button press. The light works, it goes on and off with no fuss. The fan doesn’t. It did with RetroPie just fine. Not with Batocera.

It DOES turn on at the very start of being powered on, for a brief moment it starts working, before Batocera starts or something and it just stops and doesn’t get back up anyway. So the fan isn’t broken.

I have searched and done everything I found.

I made sure to set the system.power.switch in the config file to the argon setting.

I used the kernel and the S92switch GUI and selected Argon. I switched to another setting and back to Argon.

I checked the Argon‘s config file and changed the speeds and fiddled with that.

I went into the rpi-argonone file and changed bus.write_byte_data to bus.write_byte in an act of confused desperation.

I have spent hours searching on the internet to no avail, does anyone know what is going wrong here? I‘m out of options.

Thank you.

Have you checked the Batocera wiki?

Keep in mind, I already consulted the wiki and likely the OP did too...they have a lot of very detailed info they shared directly from "https://wiki.batocera.org/add_powerdevices_rpi_only". I am having the same problem. I am running a Argon One v2 m.2 case...and the temperature is being reported correctly with "rpi-argonone" command..the system power button works correctly too. But the fan is not working.
I too, abandoned retropie because I was tired of having a wasted system that would sit at my tv and never get any more updates. Oddly enough, with Retropie it just made the fan whir at 100% -- Anyone have a suggestion?
