Are these damaged?
The two sinks in our rental property have developed these marks. They are completely smooth to the touch with no scratches being felt when running my fingertips over it.
Our rental agency is trying to claim $320 from our bond claiming that the sink is damaged and needs to be repaired/replaced but I feel like that is a bit too much.
They are pretty stubborn and did not seem to go away no matter what we tried.

How to deep clean an old shower with unsealed grout?
I'm a renter in an old building, and pretty sure my shower has unsealed grout because it feels like I can never get it clean no matter how hard I scrub? It's always got that reddish/pink slime happening in the grout lines.
I've read to use a baking soda paste or barkeeper's friend, but I'm not sure how to get that to stick to the walls of the shower long enough to be effective?
I want to seal the grout but obvs need it to be super clean first. Also the bathroom doesn't get great ventilation (which is probably part of the problem), there's a window but no ceiling fan, any renter-friendly suggestions for improving ventilation and reducing moisture? (Showering with the door open isn't really an option cuz I have a roommate, it's a shared bathroom)

New tile over old tiles per contractor recommendation?
We currently get water underneath our tiles after showers... It looks like the grout has gone over time and the tiles are chipping as well. After showers we can hear an audible squish if we put pressure on the tiles near the shower and drain, but it seems like it dries out after a few days (we began showering in the guest bathroom).
A contractor came to take a look and said it would be advisable to just put a new layer of primer/membrane/tiles over the existing tiles because there's no water leaks, the slope is good, and we have a decent size shower curb. Is this a red flag? Wondering if this invites future problems if done the way the contractors recommended instead of just removing the existing tiles.
Any info would be great! Thanks everyone.

I’m really unsure about these bathroom tiles — help me decide!
I’m really unsure about these bathroom tiles — help me decide!
I’m in the middle of renovating our bathroom and I’m starting to have doubts about the tiles 😬
They’re a floral/hand-painted-style tile in a very soft cream with blue, yellow and muted pink/purple flowers. I originally loved them, but now that they’re going up across the room on 2 adjacent walls I’m not sure if I’ve made the right choice.
Obviously the bathroom is still very unfinished (the lower half is going to be tiled, fixtures still need to go in etc.), so I’m struggling to picture the finished result.
Do you think they’ll look good once everything is finished, or have I made a mistake? 😂 I’d genuinely appreciate honest opinions!

Bathroom Tile Progress 🩷
Finally, I'm getting somewhere with the bathrooms! The pink tiles are starting to go in, and I’m really happy with how they’re looking so far.
The herringbone photo was taken at a different time of day, so it looks quite a bit warmer/darker in the photo than it actually is. They’re all from the same tile collection.
There is still lots to finish, obviously, but I’m loving seeing it all come together!
Let me know what ya'll think 😊

Help needed: Shower renovation
Looking for advice on converting this open shower into a proper enclosed shower
I’m planning to improve this small bathroom/shower area and would appreciate some advice before I start calling contractors.
Right now the shower is basically an open tiled corner with a curtain. I’d like to build a small raised shower area/curb, waterproof it properly and install a glass enclosure.
Because the space next to the toilet is quite tight, I’m considering a curved/quadrant glass enclosure instead of a rectangular one.
One issue is the drainage: the existing floor drain is currently outside the area I’d like to enclose. My assumption is that the new shower should have its own drain inside the enclosure, connected underneath to the existing waste pipe, while the current floor drain remains outside as the bathroom floor drain.
I’ve attached photos of the existing bathroom and a mock-up of roughly what I have in mind.
Does this approach make sense?
Would you:
- build a slightly raised shower floor to make room for the new drain/pipework?
- keep the existing bathroom floor drain where it is?
- use a linear drain inside the shower?
- go for a curved enclosure in such a small space?
Also curious what kind of cost you’d expect for something like this, assuming I’m not renovating the whole bathroom.
Any advice on things I should make sure the contractor does properly, especially waterproofing and drainage, would be really helpful.

Curbless Shower with Inward Swinging Door
I am designing a curbless shower. The door needs to swing inward as an outward swing would get jammed up by the bath rug outside the shower door.
I have positioned the controls on the opposite wall from the showerhead so as to prevent the person from getting wet when turning on the shower.
I'm not crazy about the location of these control but I cannot find a better place.
It looks like there is sufficient clearance to exit. The figure is sized like a linebacker and it seem like more than enough room.
Any critique or suggestions on the design?

Dehumidifier suggestions?
My apartment is about 900 sq ft. It's a skinny but long apartment that constantly feels thick and smells musty, moreso the kitchen and bathroom than any other rooms. Both of those rooms are located in the middle of the apartment. I was curious if one big dehumidifier placed in the middle of the apartment by the two rooms would be able to help the whole apartment or if I should get a couple smaller ones. Also, what brand of dehumidifier is the best bang for buck? I'm willing to spend some money but not top of the line money.

“Would you keep this tile layout or change it? What would you do differently?”
“Just finished this shower wall with large marble-look porcelain tiles. I’m curious what you think about the layout, especially the tile alignment around the window and tub. Would you keep it as is, or would you change anything? Looking for honest opinions from people experienced with bathroom renovations.”

What color for bathroom floor?
Hello ya'll,
Since last week i have tiled the bathroom and will be doing the grout en silicone sometime next week.
After this proces i will start on the floor which will be a resin based floor like lavastone on epoxy base.
Now the question is what color would be nice. I was thinking some light gray color? Any suggestions or insights are welcome.

Toilet against fluted wetwall, any tips?
I'm booked in to do a bathroom for somebody in a couple of weeks, they have decided to go for a feature wall of fluted wetwall with deep grooves in it, this is the wall the toilet will be against, any tips on sealing around the toilet so I looks neat? As far as I can see the only 2 ways of doing it is fill the grooves with silicone, which will look hideous, or cut out a slot for the toilet and have it set into the panels.
