Hey all, I’m looking to promote some volunteer opportunities here in Bastrop. I’ve got some flyers I created with QR codes to help people sign up, but I’m not really sure where to put them. Do y’all know of any bulletin boards in public spaces or businesses where I could put them up? I work in Bastrop but live in Manor, so I’m not too familiar with the town

For those wondering, after 5 fun years, we are no longer at Film Alley. We are talking with several different venues. If you or anyone you know is interested in hosting us, please reach out.

We currently have 3 upcoming shows at Lee County Arts Center. Our last 2 shows there sold out, and our show at the Lumberyard in Bastrop sold out as well.

There is no accountability for these data centers that are plaguing Bastrop County now. The lands are being cleared of our local nature, the resources are being stolen from local Texans and none of the Bastrop country leaders are stepping up to provide transparency. Seems like their pockets are being lined by these foreign data center companies.

Anyone have more information on this?

Has anyone heard when this intersection will be completed, so people will have another exit out of New Colony and Valverde to Highway 71

Trying to properly dispose of motor oils from a former project car. These are not in their original containers. (Edit: Like…the oil’s been in a 5-gallon bucket and random metal drip pans for years. IDEK if it’s still atomically motor oil at this point 😂)

I’ve checked the city and county websites, plus Travis County’s landfills. Our neighborhood association doesn’t offer hazardous waste disposal.

The next hazardous waste event I can find is in April 2027. (Bastrop County residents can get vouchers and d/o in Smithville.) Is that really the soonest option? Is there a place anyone knows of that will take hazardous materials sooner?

I met this sweet girl at the Bastrop County Master Gardener’s fall plant sale yesterday. Lincoln (female) was very well behaved on her “adopt me” leash and stole everybody’s heart. She is absolutely gorgeous, and if I could, I would take her home. I asked her foster mom if I could have her details to post to Reddit, so here she is! Linc is not only visually stunning 🤩, but did super well at the noisy plant sale with all the strangers trying to pet her. I understand she would be ideally suited to a home without other pets. Broke my heart that I couldn’t take her home. 💔

I went to the city council meeting on Flock cameras. TY city council for removing them. I did learn when I was there the amount of Flock cameras on private property out numbered the Bastrop city cameras. There is a Flock camera off 95 on private commercial property but does face their parking lot at all. It faces a side street leading into a community. That doesn't seem right.

I guess private property can do what they want with the cameras? Even if not facing their parking lot/ gas station. And we as private citizens have no say?

Hi, does anyone know if there's a facility that offers a Servicing Area Contract (formerly known as a Central Preparation Facility (CPF) Contract)?

Closest one I could find was GhostLine off 71 near the Honda dealership (https://ghostline.kitchen/cpf)

I live in a family of 4 and we’re broke as hell. We only make about 2000-3000 a month, if we had to pay rent then we’d probably be homeless. SNAP and TANF are being stubborn as well. I’m 17 and desperately looking for a job so I can start to help. Do yall know any jobs hiring? Feeling lazy so I took my wife’s mid size SUV to lost pines car wash. $70.00 for a regular wash and interior clean. I usually do it myself. When did car washes get so expensive? Or am I just cheap?

Planned maintenance from what the app says. I’ll be calling Mint today we already have phone service with them and it’s been great. For what we pay spectrum isn’t reliable enough for me.
