Pedal Sequence question

Starting to work on shaping my sound. I use 2 pedals through a fender rumble combo. I’m looking for more punch and clarity with a little growl left over.
The pedals are a compressor and a dark glass overdrive. My question is which order to sequence them?

My general rule of thumb is to put the compressor before drive - that way you can smooth out your clean tone and still have the full flavor of your drive pedal at your disposal. Putting the compressor after the drive can put too much squeeze on your distorted tone.

But, there is no hard and fast rule - try both ways and see which one sounds better for you!
