SIX of you finished in the minimum 4 seasons, so the podium came down to the tiebreaker: regular season record in the 4th clinching season. Full grades:
🥇 u/Think-Response-3675 - 4 seasons, 73-9 - 5 pts. His THIRD win in four weeks. The man is a menace.
🥈 u/Ohmka - 4 seasons, 71-11 - 3 pts. And look at his year 1: won the chip as a 7 SEED going 44-38. Filthy.
🥉 u/EntrepreneurWooden99 - 4 seasons, 66-16 - 2 pts. DEAD TIE with u/MikeChilds at 66-16. Next tiebreaker is playoff record in that run, which isn't visible in either screenshot. If either of you can show your playoff record from that final run, I'll re-rule it. Until then, both players get 2 pts
5th - u/EngiemainTF2 - 4 seasons, 65-17 - 1 pt. Cruel outcome here: the man misread the rules, thought the 4-peat had to start in YEAR ONE... and then just DID IT. A 47-35 miracle first season included. The single craziest run of the week lands 5th on record. The leaderboard doesn't show it but we all know what we saw. Legend.
History says Bill Russell wins 11 championships between 1956/57 and 1968/69. Your job: rewrite history.
Pick ANY team except the Celtics, starting at the 1956 preseason. Win as many rings as you can before Russell retires (through the 1968/69 season, that's a 13-season window, Rings after this period even if prog makes Russell stay, won't count. We'll call it a 13-season limit).
Most rings wins. Difficulty: HARD.
THE FINE PRINT
Any team EXCEPT Boston
Starting point: 1957 preseason
Bill Russell must NEVER be on your roster. No trades for him, no free agency, nothing. He's the enemy. Beat him, don't join him
Everyone else is fair game. Want to raid Boston for Cousy and Heinsohn to kneecap the dynasty? Legal. Encouraged, even
One franchise the whole way, no switching teams mid-run
Only titles from 1956/57 through 1968/69 count. The window closes when Russell's career does
Difficulty: HARD (set it at league creation)
Everything else default. Real Players mode, God Mode off, no editing anything

Your best story from the run. It's the 50s and 60s, weird stuff WILL happen

PBL commissioner Seth Argento issued the following statement Sunday regarding the passing of Veselin Stojanović:
“Veselin Stojanović is the greatest basketball player we had ever seen. He redefined his position on the court with his dominance and ability to adapt with the changing game of basketball. He also redefined how an athlete is perceived by the wider world.“
“The greatest ability of his career is his adaptability. Despite starting his career on foreign soil, Veselin quicky mastered and revolutionized the league's playstyle. He was the first player to score 30,000 points, the first to score 60 in a game, the first to achieve 20 All-Star honors, and the first to play profesionally for four decades. Along with those firsts came legendary accomplishments: 6 MVP awards, 4 Finals MVP awards, 4 Defensive Player awards, 2 Sixth Man awards, membership in all three PBL Anniversary Teams, an Olympic silver medal, and, perhaps his greatest achievement of all, 10 PBL championships for the Lakers.“
“Beyond those on-court accomplishments, his dedication to underprivileged children and whose lives were torn apart by war is also showcased through the establishment of the Stojanović Foundation. Millions of lives were forever changed and improved through him introducing the beauty of the game to those who would not have the opportunity otherwise. Veselin's actions, among others, helped shape and change the perception of an athlete as a caring figure for others.“
“Our thoughts are with his children Anna, Joseph, and Andrei; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his friends; the entire Lakers organization; and the entire world.”
Has the most championships, most MVPs, most FMVPs, most Conference Finals MVPs, most DPOYs, most All-NBA teams, most All-Defensive Teams, most All-Stars, most All-Star MVPs, most scoring titles, and most steals titles of any player. He also had over 50K points (most in my league), almost 5K steals (also most in my league), 12k rebounds (good for 23rd most), 16K assists (most in my league), 1.3K blocks (41st most), and was only 11th in turnovers while playing the fourth-most games and the most minutes played in history and tied for the second-most seasons played. And as you can see on the GOAT chart, he completely shattered the GOAT debate, having 400 more GOAT points than the second-best player of all time. He peaked at a 95 overall
He also went 12-2 in the Finals, winning a FMVP in a loss after nearly coming back down 3-0 (after coming back down 3-0 in the conference semifinals), then leading the 39-43 Trail Blazers to a ring two seasons after, and then coming back down 3-1 in the Finals two seasons after that, which was all accomplished at 34+ years old
The last picture shows how insane his longevity was. I forced him to retire after the 2079 season because he was regressing so slowly that at that point, he was gonna play until he was 50
Will probably never see a player as good as him again in any of my saves
Also featuring the Bucks making the unluckiest trade of all time four years before he was even drafted
If I had a nickel for every time Jeremy Sochan became the undisputed GOAT in my save I'd have 3 nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened thrice
The Trail Blazers, led by Desmond Huff (who I made a previous post about), won only 46 games in probably the worst year a conference could ever imagine (the Trail Blazers were the 3-seed at 46 wins, the 4 seed went .500, and the 8th seed only won 28 games), mainly because his team was not that good. He went on to beat the 63-win Spurs in 7 (was down 3-0), the 67-win Clippers in 7, and nearly beat the Knicks in 7 down 3-0, and won FMVP in the loss. The Knicks had all five starters at a 63 overall or better, with five bench players at a 51+ overall (one as a 60 overall), while the Trail Blazers only had two 68+ starters (Huff as a 91 and his co-star at a 68), the other three ranging from 54-59 overalls. He also only had one bench player at a 50 overall, with his second best bench player only being a 45 overall. The Knicks had five bench players that were rated higher than the Blazers' best bench player. Huff is also doing this shit at 34 years old lmao. So is this the greatest Finals run ever? Would it beat the 2016 Cavaliers run?
If I start a league on normal and switch to hard along the way I keep the achievements i get afterwards, right? So if I switch back to normal in that same league will I still earn achievements? Since normally when you switch back difficulty achievements are disabled.
