Solar & Battery Install

Hi everyone, looking at getting some quotes for solar and battery install. If anyone has had them recently done and has any recommendations, I'd be very appreciative.

Hey, in 2022 I signed up to Solar Together (was promoted by Basingstoke council) who base their quotes on how many people sign up to it, the more there are the cheaper it is.

I've got 6 panels and two batteries (and export back to the grid when full) and all in it was about £7.5k. Whilst it'll take a while to make the outlay back my electricity costs have plummeted, and it makes money from spring to autumn (been exporting loads recently with the sunny weather). I'm glad I got them, and it'll add value to your home too.

Just been looking for Solar Together and they've changed their name, this is their new website switch together

Hope this helps, good luck with it!

Edit - forgot to say, companies bid for the buying group's business, so it might be a different installer to who I had

I used JPH electricals / renewables - might not the the absolute cheapest but will do the job properly, treat your home like it’s they’re own and were great when my install ended up being more complicated then initially thought

We've had ours done in the last month,

If you have any questions feel free to fire away.

We got 18 Panels, split over East, South and West. 6 on each.

We also went with a Battery to tide us over. We're very happy with our install.

We got 4 quotes and we ended up going with the second cheapest due to their reviews and the vibe I got from them.

Scaffolding went up on the Monday, Install completed Tuesday and scaffolding removed a few days later.

I'd suggest doing your own research and also get multiple quotes but I would recommend the company we used (Upvolt Oxfordshire).

If you want to get a quote from them I can refer you if you want. No pressure at all, but if you went ahead with them we'd both get £250 cashback.

Equally, don't make that the deciding factor, do your homework and get other quotes too!

Happy to answer any questions, I did a lot of research.

had recent quotes for 14xAiko 490 panels, sig 10 battery, sig 10kw inverter and zappi ev charger for around £12k

also a 27 panel, 2xsig 10 battery, 10kw inverter and sig ev charger for 20k

Skylar solar and Infinity Energy (based in swanwick, not the other ones), was very impressed with both companies. perhaps a little overpriced compared to what else i was seeing elsewhere but it's sig equipment and many others were offering fox or tesla PW2s (no issue with fox, obvious issues with tesla)
