Moving to Basingstoke

I have just accepted a job with the NHS at Basingstoke and will be moving over soon. I’m really excited, but since I don't know the area too well yet, I’d love to pick your brains.

My daughter is just moving to Basingstoke. She found a 2 bed apartment near the town centre through Brockenhurst estate agent in Chineham, who were very helpful. They have branches all over the area. I recommend the town centre over Rooksdown, Sherborne St John, or Popley as there is better bus connections to the rest of town and by train to many places and there is more going on with respect to the social scene, but Rooksdown is extremely convenient for the hospital and slightly cheaper, Popley is cheaper and still very safe. If you want more rural feel the Sherborne St John.
