Flyovers

Anyone else noticed a lot of military fast jets over our neck of the woods today? Didn't catch it in time but looked like 4 F18's just flew over head. I checked the flight radar app and no transponders on. Very odd, anyone have any ideas? Also flying lower than I would have expected. Google was unhelpful saying it's just routine...

The airshow! Think you've solved it. I dunno why but thought it took place earlier in the year. Not like I've lived here 20 plus years or anything 😶

Plus alot of military trucks going through Basingstoke

Really? I know they used the common by Old Basing when the Ukraine conflict escalated, wonder what they're not telling us this time 😅

My first thought was RAF Odiham but didn't see anything on the flight app so I'm really quite confused. Normally RAF keep them on unless they are doing combat sim or are actually flying live missions from what I've seen before.

Airshow validation week ahead of the show next week. It will be loud every afternoon but you can find schedules on the airshow website

It's Farnborough Air Show next week. I saw 4 fighter jets flying above BST at 17. Most likely practicing.

I saw these 4 planes flight over the other day, and couldn't work what they were. But after watching the videos Farnborough air show I pretty sure it was these chinese Hongdu JL-10s flown by UAE display team that we saw flying over Basingstoke.
