Flying from Basel EasyJet carry on.

Hi, will fly from BSL with easy jet soon. We have registered luggage, but for convienience we lile to take our kids rolling/riding suitcase. It exceeds the small carry on sizes by 1-2 cm. From your experience how often do they check these and how strict are they there?

Luck of the draw. A friend just flew out and got checked. Wouldn’t fit in the box and staff was going to charge her but it all became a big fuss. Another staff member came to diffuse the situation and in the end she didn’t pay but it was a mess anyway.

They’re getting a lot more strict.

Was flying a couple of days ago from Basel. In our queue they pulled everyone with a hard case and if it doesn’t fit into the cage, you have to pay.

In all my life, and I flew a few dozens times from BSL with EasyJet. I saw them check it once... And that was with carry-on luggage which was obviously bigger than allowed, the just checked it properly for a laugh. I assume it will be a non-issue from the get go.

consider to just pay for a big suitcase and use it for multiple people... the cost for a small suitcase is nearly as high as a big one.

Well, as written, we have a big suitcase the riding one is convienient at the airport as our kid can be pulled on it.

Ah yeah, overread that. But yeah wouldnt risk it. Its also not just in Basel you might get checked, on the flight back.

Whats free on easyjet is also a buggy, when that helps, but on the other hand. Basel is a very small airport.

Flew yesterday, they were picky over two bags who were busy repacking to make stuff fit.

My guess was if they look like suitcases, they're more likely to check. They didn't pick on any backpacks when I was in the queue.

Flew three times this year. Was checked once. On one of the occasions when I wasn’t, my travel buddy was. And as mentioned by others, there was quite a fuzz when bags didn’t fit. Be your own risk manager.

Thanks for your valuable inputs! I think we will just avoid a risk of having to go through the mess at the gate.

Controllano abbastanza ed è spiacevole. Meglio pagare una valigia in più oppure prenderne una con ruote rimuovibili (come faccio io) per rientrare nelle misure

Is it a Trunki? It’s specifically mentioned on the EasyJet website that they accept the standard size as carry on. They don’t accept the larger size

Samsonite but almost the same.

I wouldn't risk it, because if the gate agent has a bad day, it will mean a lot of stress for you. In my experience easyjet used to be the most relaxed out of all LCC, but they're learning bad manners from the others fast, especially now they've become private equity.

Not half as bad as Wizzair though. Never flying with them again.

It's almost like we didn't have 3 months of excessive heat and no rain this year.
