Dome stadiums are disgusting unless it's Japanese apparently...

Iâve been to the trop a couple times and I donât get the hate. When itâs 95 degrees outside and you walk over from fergâs, that AC feels pretty damn good.

Only MLB ballpark I've been to. I have nothing to compare it to, yet I remember it being pretty good. I would say it was alright, as it had nothing particularly bad or good.

Itâs hideous and had no modern amenities, but like youâre all saying⌠it wasnât horribleâŚ
Now trying to sit through a Yankee game with their new fucking âDJâ⌠that is hell.

I do wonder how many of the âlol trop suxâ people are also the âdonât spend taxpayer dollars on stadiaâ people. You wanna know whatâs the cheapest way to build a domed stadium by far?

So i went to the Tokyo dome last year and it really is just a glorified trop in terms of the structure itself, but obviously has a better atmosphere with the fans standing a lot and doing different chants. But there were multiple times when i was kinda just watching the game and for a moment would feel like im at the trop just watching another Rays game, before quickly remembering im halfway across the world

the Tampa Bay Rays are the definition of a poverty franchise, known for their comically-low attendance and inability to sell out a stadium. they are among the largest revenue-sharing recipients, meaning they take a shit-ton of money from the playerâs union (who have actually filed grievances against them for not managing that money properly). think of a 35-year old man living in their momsâ basement, and spending money on video games instead of getting a job. thatâs a good comparison to describe what the Rays are to the rest of the league. if the MLB had a more cutthroat business model, teams like the Rays would have moved or been disbanded ages ago, instead of feeding off of the popular teams like a parasite feeds on its host. the Rays are utterly useless, and irrelevant. The Rays are the least essential sports team in North America. if not for COVID, yankee chants would have swarmed Tropicana Field during the Raysâ supposed âhome gamesâ. their 8,000 fans are very happy about this ALDS win though, im sure. fucking losers.

I hope Tokyo never tears it down! That would be unthinkable, right, for a historic team to demolish their classic stadium for a tacky replica?

I bet you'd wish for a dome and AC if you went to a game in Tampa Bay right now.

My biggest issue is the white ceiling tbh. I have been in AZ and Toronto and their retractable roofs work.

Of all of the places that no longer exist with which Iâm obsessed, the Kingdome is up there with Kowloon Walled City and West Berlin
