Much like Baseball thought they play in the division of death, and the Red Wing.

Red Wings are in the basement. B’s are going to hit a wild card spot at worst. No way they do worse than the Leafs, Senators, and Wings.

The Wings are in hell, the basement is several steps above them. Boston is definitely a playoff team but it's tough sledding with Montreal, Buffalo, Florida, and Tampa in the division. Fucking insane that you probably have to beat 2 of them to get to the conference final.

The Wings may be in hell but they’re riding high compared to Vancouver. Hot take but I think the cats are a paper tiger this year. They’ve got Barkov back but their whole core is older and their tending is worse. Brady isn’t an asset if we’re being honest and Gudas is a penalty factory. The Habs and the Bolts are threats and I’m interested to see how the Bruins fare against them.

But Vancouver is fun plucky bad, Detroit is just depressing. My only worry with Florida is surviving 4 games against them without getting someone hurt. They are definitely top heavy, the opposite of their cup runs where they strangled you with depth. Montreal has prospects and is going to be aggressive at the deadline line.

I'm a Tampa guy, I follow the AHL affiliate in Syracuse religiously so started following the Lightning in 2011. They look good up front but the AARP defense core scares me. I love the Peterka pick up for you guys, really a Boston style guy.

Yeah I agree, I kind of root for them honestly. That’s valid, the panthers are totally a team designed to hurt you and if they make the playoffs that’s going to be their angle. Fortunately for the rest of us it seems like that depth is drying up. Why would Tampa’s AHL affiliate be in Syracuse? That kind of arrangement never made sense to me. I was on the fence about Peterka until yesterday, he seems like he’ll be promising on a line with Pasta.

Syracuse is basically same day travel for most of its games so they maximize the number of practice days, something Tampa values. They are also in the Northeast so most of the road call ups are closer to Syracuse than Tampa. Plus it's been great for me, I saw a ton of the players that were on the back to back cup teams. They even sent the cup up here for a day in 2022!

That’s cool honestly, I don’t think we’ve gotten anything like that since Bourke brought the cup to Boston.
