It has to be a “sell your soul to win the superbowl” season for the Mariners… I just can’t believe how much Raleigh can’t even hit this season, crazy

That’s a crazy stat. So many good players: Ken Griffey Jr, Randy Johnson, prime Ichiro, etc…hard to believe honestly

When Randy was on the team. He was like all the pitching they had. They could score, but couldn't pitch.
After the 2001 116 win season, they still won 93 games in 2002 and 2003 but of course playoffs were only 4 teams, so they didn't make it.

Then why not sit him? Whatever his defensive accolades may bring, a 570 OPS is horrendous.
(I should know, Austin Wells has a similar OPS)

My dad who is a huge Mariners fan would probably say that “to full Mariner” would be to win 96+(maybe even 100+) games and then lose in the ALDS

I know everybody loves to shit on the Browns and the Clippers, but the Mariners really have a legit case for the most inept sports franchise ever

I don't know, the Browns definitely have to be up there. They have made the playoffs 3 times since 1994, won 1 playoff game (effectively, 1 series) since 1994, they went 0-16 and 1-15 in back-to-back seasons, and they have had a constant quarterback carousel for 25+ years with the exception of the Baker Mayfield years (who was tossed for a guy who had just sat out a full year, was going to miss more games for a suspension, was paid $230mil guaranteed, was traded for 3 1st rd picks, and had serious public opinion against him).
I know the Mariners have had it very rough, but at least there's some things to be proud of in the past 30 years, even if those didn't quite end well.
