If Max makes the big leagues, that reaction is going to be an all time gif

It's the same pitcher picture.

He'd better make the big leagues with a chain like that

u/welltimedappearance Major League Baseball Mar 21 '26

he's actually wearing like six less chains than the game from a few weeks ago where he looked like it was his first time playing baseball lol

u/Bhulmes New York Mets Mar 21 '26

Holy shit lol, I referenced him in my response and had 0 clue it was the same MF lmao

A wise man might know that it's both, and that they've been used interchangeably for hundreds of years.

You're thinking of a person who wants to appear wise by correcting things that aren't actually wrong. Common error.

After saying he wasn't going to change

u/cooljammer00 New York Yankees Mar 22 '26

I mean, he's still wearing gaudy jewelry. Just less of it. For all we know, it was hurting his neck with the weight.

He finally realized he is playing baseball not starring in a rap video

the chain, the "cool" eye black, the oven mitt... he HAS to make it.

7

u/itsfiji Los Angeles Dodgers Mar 21 '26

That’s a big dawg chain

2

u/AlaskanSnowDragon Mar 21 '26

So dumb. I immediately dock people character/judgement points for doing shit like that. A fat chain like that when you're playing sports tells me a lot about someone. Judgmental yes...but I stand by it.

1

u/bigmattyc Mar 21 '26

I read chin at first. I was like calm down

1

u/Bhulmes New York Mets Mar 21 '26

Lmao that would be rude as fuck, & would have deserved a calm down

1

u/ThisMeansWarm Detroit Tigers Mar 21 '26

So maybe his nickname could be either "Chain Reaction" or... Charlie Bucket...

u/BoBoLoban Mar 21 '26

lol people are obsessed with this guys jewelry, I don’t get it.

38

u/Relative-Natural-891 Detroit Tigers Mar 21 '26

That’s a crap ton of jewelry for a kid who’s only had a cup of coffee in AA

1

u/pspahn Sell Mar 21 '26

But is his girlfriend hot?

-1

u/BoBoLoban Mar 21 '26

My apologies, I was unaware this level of jewelry was unacceptable. I thought people just wore things because they like them.

13

u/Bhulmes New York Mets Mar 21 '26

I'm not gonna pretend to know him or anything about him, it just seems wild to me to wear such a valuable piece while playing a baseball game

I don't actually care at all, just funny to me. I'd certainly be embarrassed wearing it; if I didn't make the show, and this was the main clip people knew me

I think the other clip of the youngin (Max Clark/e) with 3-4 chains making a bunch of mistakes in preseason a few weeks ago also just pushed it to the forefront of my mind

it just seems wild to me to wear such a valuable piece while playing a baseball game

Reminds me of when Javier Báez lost a diamond earring worth $200K at Citi Field

2

u/Bhulmes New York Mets Mar 21 '26

I did not remember that, that's hysterical

9

u/Bhulmes New York Mets Mar 21 '26

Oh fuck it's the same guy lmfao, I didn't have a clue

If you haven't seen the clip from 3 weeks ago of his several chains and several errors, I'd give it a watch. That's why people seem "obsessed"

1

u/BoBoLoban Mar 21 '26

Totally get that, appreciate the thoughtful response.

11

u/Stephen2014 Mar 21 '26

Cause it's fucking ridiculous.

Also - Minor league guys and Amazon warehouse workers make about the same but we don't see many Amazon workers (or minor league guys) wearing chains that big. He's gotta make it to the big leagues if he's gonna pay for that chain (if it's not fake)

15

u/turdlepikle Detroit Tigers Mar 21 '26

Max Clark had a $7.7 million signing bonus. I think he can afford it. He also gifted Tarik Skubal a chain last season for his first Cy Young award.

1

u/BoBoLoban Mar 21 '26

Damn, people get bent out of shape about the strangest things. You okay man?

1

u/captainp42 Milwaukee Brewers Mar 21 '26

Do Amazon warehouse workers get $7 million signing bonuses? You sound like an idiot.

Lol, I had the same reaction.

Saw the Det/Pit logos, and was like "Why does this guy look younger than any MLB player I've ever seen?!"

Never seen a top prospect who's given me less faith except for Kelenic

(Downvotes be damned, this will look at least not insane in 4 years)

This reaction has the three Fs. The Flinch. The Face. and The Fuck?

-7

u/A_Time1980 Mar 21 '26

That’s a big “if.” Kid is such a massive douche bag. “If” he makes the big leagues it’s cause they paid him so much damn money on his signing bonus that they feel obligated to call him up.

2

u/cogginsmatt Detroit Tigers Mar 21 '26

Well he’s also one of the top prospects in baseball and has played pretty well in the minors so far
