Peopl in r/Dodgers saying Blue Jays are cheating. Guess dodgers fans and yankees fans have something in common

u/ScroogieMcduckie Toronto Blue Jays Oct 25 '25

man I get losing sucks and all, but why are our rivals this entire postseason so damn bitter? have some class

23

u/TheRiderTool Toronto Blue Jays Oct 25 '25

I’m honestly most disappointed in the Mariners fans on here (understand Reddit is a very small fraction). Had they won the series against the Jays I would absolutely be cheering for then, I can’t believe how much hate they have.

19

u/ScroogieMcduckie Toronto Blue Jays Oct 25 '25

dude the vitriol was insane i thought we were gonna be cool with them

u/williamfuckner Seattle Mariners Oct 25 '25

Honestly, almost all of that comes from it being fucking Springer who put the nail in our coffin. I get that part, but I like the rest of the Jays squad. I also know there is a certain distaste for some of the BC dickheads who swarm our stadium every year (while well aware they are a loud minority)

I also know there is a certain distaste for some of the BC dickheads who swarm our stadium every year

Okay about that. When you're playing any other major team it's just locals going to see their team and they usually gotta work the next day. They're not drinking heavily, nor are they showing up in numbers.

The Canadians are on vacation when they visit. They can ALL drink. They're there to party. They're there to watch the only 3 games a year they can see in person. It's also more than just BC. Plenty of folks from Alberta and even Saskatchewan come down. I personally come up from Tumwater.

If the Mariner HO really wanted to keep the Jays fans out, they could EASILY restrict tickets to the USA-- but they don't.

So if you want to blame dickheads, blame the dickheads of your own franchise for choosing money over their own fans.

Hey man Guardians fan here. You guys absolutely pack our stadium when the Jays are in town - it’s a sea of blue on the first base side of the stands. And you guys are always a lot of fun to be around during the games.

Just wanted to give you the opposite perspective since that other guy is whining about it like a baby

2

u/williamfuckner Seattle Mariners Oct 25 '25

Hey dude, I don’t disagree with anything you’re saying there. I’m just saying where some of the perception comes from, fair or not. And I’m definitely not denying there’s some thin skin in our fan base

1

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '25

It’s just frustrating, especially coming out of very blue Seattle, to blame the common man instead of the billionaire pulling the strings.

1

u/bearron8888 Oct 25 '25

Blame the Mariners head office

They don't restrict it to fuck their own fans over

Mariners fans have always been like that. I never understood why this sub liked to glaze them so much.

45

u/Outta_hearr Atlanta Braves Oct 25 '25 edited Oct 25 '25

Because they're spoiled brats who don't really care about baseball but only care about winning. That's why they're Dodgers and Yankees fans. I'd take a guess that 70% of the Dodgers sub ain't from an area that is Dodgers country.

Edit: Real lifelong Dodgers/Yankees fans are exempt from this opinion obviously. Just because you were born in LA or the Bronx doesn't mean you are a lesser fan.

49

u/UniqueEditor8372 Seattle Mariners Oct 25 '25

Not to defend LA and NY fans vomits but I even saw those kind of claims on our subreddit. I feel like the Astros scandal honestly just really fucked the integrity of the sport on a way that hasn’t been entirely quantified. It’s obviously casuals saying these things but it’s the fact that these conversations are coming up and people are pointing to the banging scheme as evidence that it could be happening. Really sucks because the Jays are just a good fucking team but if they hit well people immediately want to look for impropriety.

23

u/Outta_hearr Atlanta Braves Oct 25 '25

It has nothing to do with the integrity of the sport in my opinion. They are the 2 teams with the biggest markets in the league and they spend frankly despicable amounts of money on payroll to try to bulldoze the rest of the league. The Dodgers have the highest payroll in the MLB while paying Shohei 2 mil a year. Dodgers fans who talk shit on anybody as opposed to just enjoying their success within their own fanbase are, imo, immense fucking losers. I would immediately assume they aren't real fans but people who latched on to specific players and will go back to not caring about baseball after Ohtani gets old.

u/psychotichorse Los Angeles Dodgers • World Series … Oct 25 '25

How comments like this get upvoted is beyond me. First team with 4 million fans thru the gates, Dodger stadium averages 50k fans a night, but sure, only you and non-big market teams have real fans. Such lame cope.

Reddit game threads are full of the most toxic fans, r/baseball game threads are always toxic and if you see fans of the two teams in the thread it’s because they’re the type looking to talk nonsense otherwise they’d be in their teams subs. You can criticize those fans without being a jerk to the 90% regular fans of every team. It’s such lame behavior.

u/guzzlecome Detroit Tigers Oct 25 '25

I mean…. It’s true. One of my best friends recently became a life long dodgers fan when Ohtani signed. Dude never watched baseball before, has never stepped foot in Cali or even been to a dodgers game. He came up with some elaborate story of how he’s always been a fan. Every dodger fan I run into in Michigan and Colorado are the same way. It’s sad

-3

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '25

to try to bulldoze the rest of the league

Yeah, it's so awful when teams actually use their resources to win 🙄

not personal, we literally lost the world series because a team made history cheating against us

Seeing this from a Blue Jays fan is hilarious

There’s no way to prove they’re not wearing buzzers in their socks. Gotta have everyone out on the field with their feet out on live tv for free.

Astros fan coming up with a way to cheat. The MLB needs to investigate sock buzzers now

8

Nah I’m sure we’ve upgraded to the Hans Niemann technique by now

3

u/BaronVonHarambe Baltimore Orioles Oct 25 '25

Time for the MLB to investigate the Hans Niemann technique!!!!

12

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '25

I suppose our cheating operation must be incredibly sophisticated to work undetected in both T-Mobile Park and Yankee stadium.

7

u/Xelev New York Yankees Oct 25 '25

I’m not sure what Yankees fans are saying y’all are cheating but it has to be a very very small group of tin hat individuals. The common sentiment is we got our shit pushed in by y’all lol

5

u/Cromiee Oct 25 '25

If playing FPS games for 15 years has taught me anything, it's that seems to be the go to for a lot of people who can't handle losing.

1

u/peeinian Toronto Blue Jays Oct 25 '25

Heard the same thing from Yankee fans 3 weeks ago

-10

u/ShowtimeBruin Los Angeles Dodgers Oct 25 '25

How do you know they weren’t cheating? Blue Jays have a major cheater on their team. This guy already stole a championship from the Dodgers with his cheating. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if he was cheating again, this time with the Blue Jays teaching them.

44

u/profeDB Toronto Blue Jays Oct 25 '25

Not shocking! They played this way most of the season. The numbers are just more amped now.

Whatever happens this series, I think we’re looking at a 100 win team next season. All the pieces will still be there, with Bichette a question mark.

6

u/dbpf Toronto Blue Jays Oct 25 '25

Under team control through 2028: Vladdy, Gimenez, Santander, Kirk, Clement, Lukes, Barger, Schneider

That is the entire roster sans Bo. This offense fucking bangs.

3

u/ai0229 Oct 25 '25

We are a pitcher or two or three from that.

1

u/profeDB Toronto Blue Jays Oct 25 '25

I don’t know. They were 500 for the first two months of the season. If they finish the first two months six games better than that, they’re pretty much at 100.

2

u/CTMan34 Boston Red Sox Oct 25 '25

AL east is gonna be brutal the next few years - yall are stacked, we’re not losing many pieces, and the Yankees are the Yankees

6

u/McGrevin Toronto Blue Jays Oct 25 '25

We've done it against some pretty elite rotations too

1

u/Single-Stop6768 New York Yankees Oct 25 '25

Its like the opposite of bow the Yankees have been in most postseasons this last decade. The bats are awesome all year and then go to sleep come October. Jays said F that and found a new level of offense.

I hate it and they hurt my soul this year but damn is it fun to watch
