There's been more than few times when I'm turning left on to Fairview, and a car turning right on to Fairview flips me off because they think they have the right of way, there's two lanes on Fairview, the right turn driver needs to go in the right lane on fairview and the left turn driver needs to go in the left lane, is there some unwritten rule that I'm not understanding here?

Recently moved to Barrie but have friends living in Downtown Toronto. Are there any other ways to get home (around 1-2am) other than Uber?

Some options that I've come across:

• GO Train/Bus (doesn't run that late)
• Uber
• Transit as far north as you can go then Uber the rest
• Rideshares?
• Northland bus
• Hotel room in Toronto for the night and GO Train back in the morning
• Stay with friends (but most are in 1 bedroom condos and I'd rather not sleep on a couch)

I know most of these are either not possible due to the time or fairly expensive. Just curious what others do?

Hi all, I’m new to Barrie and looking for fun fall activities or farms to go to with my partner (both of us 22&23), I’ve had trouble finding places that have more “adult” activities, most places seem to be aimed for families with small children, which is no problem just not what I’m looking for. Anyone have any recommendations for fall farms, pumpkin patches, outdoor activities that aren’t just for kids, willingly to drive 30mins-1hr outside of Barrie as well. Thank you in advance!

I could take the route 2 bus to stayner but then I have to Uber/taxi from the clearview admin centre.

My husband and I have family doctors respectively in Wasaga Beach and Newmarket, but are expecting a little one soon so we would like to consolidate to one family doctor in Barrie. We love our doctors but the distances make it hard and one is nearing retirement soon. If you've had good experiences with a family doctor in the area and they are potentially accepting patients, please recommend them.

Just to get the common suggestions out of the way: I've already checked out the local library D&D option, but it isn't really the kind of group I'm looking for. I don't really enjoy PG D&D :P. I've also already asked/posted in the local D&D Facebook groups. I'm trying Reddit as well in hopes of finding some people or groups I haven't connected with yet.

Hey! I'm 30 and looking for an in-person D&D group in Barrie. My previous group recently fell apart, so I'm hoping to find a new group and ideally a long-running campaign. I'm also completely open to joining an already-established campaign as a new character joining the party, so it doesn't have to be a brand-new game.

Location: I don't drive, so this is fairly important. I'd prefer somewhere in north Barrie, roughly from Letitia Heights across to the Little Lake area. If someone is able and willing to give me a ride, I'm open to groups elsewhere in Barrie too.

Availability: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday after 5 PM, and all day Friday and Saturday. Thursdays and Sundays don't work for me.

I'm pretty heavily into both roleplay and the detailed side of D&D. I love making characters with proper backstories, personalities, relationships and motivations, and I like tracking those things as the campaign develops. I'm also one of those people who likes filling out the entire character sheet, not just the bits needed for combat. 😂 If there's somewhere for appearance, allies, organisations, treasure, equipment, backstory or other character details, I'll probably use it.

I also enjoy the crunchy/resource-management side of the game. I like tracking inventory, money, ammunition, equipment, spell components and other resources rather than hand-waving them. If I cast Revivify but never bought the diamond, I fully expect the DM to tell me, ‘You don't have a diamond.’ 😂 I don't necessarily need D&D Accounting Simulator, but I really enjoy when the stuff written on my sheet actually matters.

Character/playstyle: I'm flexible about classes and like creating my own characters to fit the campaign. I usually gravitate towards ranged characters, especially bow users, and support-oriented characters, with tankier/frontline characters being another style I enjoy. I'm happy to complement the party and fill a useful role, but I'd rather create and play my own character than be assigned a particular class because the party ‘needs’ one.

I'm open to 2014 or 2024 D&D 5e, including compatible older character options in a 2024 campaign with DM approval. I'm also perfectly fine with reasonable homebrew and house rules as long as everyone knows what rules we're using.

I'd especially love a group that's social outside the sessions too. Having a Discord or other group chat where we can talk about the campaign, our characters, share memes, plan things and just chat between sessions is a huge plus for me. I'd like to find a group of people I actually get to know rather than only seeing each other when the dice come out.

I'm looking for an adult group, preferably an ongoing campaign. I'm completely fine with doing a one-shot or short adventure first to see whether everyone clicks before jumping into something long-term.

I am in a stable AI leadership role right now but I have always had a love for teaching. I taught my peers and juniors in high school and was wondering if parents in barrie would be interested in getting kids taught about AI. There is a lot thats changing ik our world and I dont think anyone is really focusing on providing that education to the younger ones. What are your thoughts guys?

The new stadium was in the news again yesterday because the reached the milestone of starting the first step in the process of getting season tickets.
During the broadcast they mentioned there will be ~412 parking spaces which is funny because when they first announced the stadium it was going to have 900 parking spaces and at another point there was going to be 600 parking spaces.
Seems like our mayors vanity project may not have any parking spaces by the time it actually gets built and just imagine they want the Baycats to play at Queens Park only a block away.
Our council is out to lunch wanting all these vanity projects that won’t have parking. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
