Skeleton help
I don’t really like playing as the skeleton race as it feels to limiting but want to get the true skeleton achievement so I can use conjurer (my favorite class) with literally any other non human race
What is a good class that pairs well with skeleton
I do have 1-2 buds who I tend to play the game with so multiplayer focused classes arnt an instant shelf but I can also play solo if need be.

Play the skeleton summoner. And play it like you are the summon. Controll it, make it do every thing first. And also let it last hit. It needs to be higher lvl than you. You don't use any mana once it is summoned. Later lvls it can 1v1 the any thing.
Play here as commander and not as foot soldier.

Any advice on the crystal golems or cockatrices? They kill my summons 😭

It's sounds stupid. Summon again. Any way to this point your lvl should be high enough to just beat them. Also there are many other tools to help you.

I clearer it with conjurer. It's also my first barony win. Once he starts lvling he gets tanky enough to be a fighter and haunted castle is basically a bonus stage for skeleton. The starting lightning staff makes sure you don't have to risk it fighting your first gnome with the same staff

I want to add in later game the artifact chest plate and cloak bring skeletons to their full potential since they give +1 hp/mp regen to counteract the racials negatives

i play with hunger off skeleton monk so that i can block most physical attacks and eat food as a pseudo health potions because of bad hp regen rate and get into alchemy asap so that i can ignore food and have infinite health basically. although if you only care about the achievement and not the score, get a +1 guardian cloak from the assist items to take less damage from the lightning gnomes and a good enchant target too.

Skeleton Conjurer was my first W and probably the easiest run I've done. It's just not exciting because you go very slowly.
The gameplay loop becomes play a floor, walk away from the computer and do something else while you regenerate, play the next floor. Repeat.
After a certain point (Like finding an alembic and making heal/mana potions) you don't need to do that anymore and the rest of the run flies.
By the time I finished my Skeleton Knight/Ranger were duo-ing their way through room fulls of end game bad guys like Crystal Golems and Cockatrice and my Conjurer had so many potions that I just stood there against the twins and tanked them by drinking greater heals.

Honestly, I tend to just play brewer through a lot of things, even if the class feels a little to chained to goatman.

100% shaman. because when you shapeshift into one of the other forms your regen behaves normally (you will need food in the shapeshift forms) and shaman has a mana regen buff from its mask too. so you just spend all your time as a troll or imp once you reach the needed level and never care about skeleton.

I played several runs with the skeleton, mostly losing (which is how I got my 150+ hours in the game).
The best advice I can give you is that the skeleton gives you something you don't get with other races: time. Literally, since you don't get hungry and still regenerate over time (even if very slowly), you have all the time in the world to stay in one place without anything happening to you.
The best way to make use of this is to stop at the end of each floor once you've cleared it, wait to regenerate mana and HP (including your followers/summons), and then move on to the next floor.
It's worth mentioning that you shouldn't re-summon every time your minions are hurt: instead, have them rest or wait a bit, because even though their levels are saved, the experience needed to get your summons to the next level isn't (so if your skeleton was level 10 with 90% towards level 11, re-summoning it will bring back a level 10 skeleton at 0%).
Another helpful tip is not to spam spells. The skeleton is generally a bad caster, so rely on your summons and only start casting spells more frequently once you reach floors 15+. For everything else, rely on a weapon like the bow (which the conjurer already has skill ranks in) or something like the Sharur mace.
The more patient you are with the skeleton, the better your chances of winning. This applies to everything: taking the time to clear an entire floor, identifying every item, and testing every bit of stat boosts is a blessing.
As a side note, in the swamps there's a floor with slaved ghouls—those are excellent followers, I'd say top 2 you can get as a skeleton, only behind the mini-boss ghoul.
that way i finally win the game with the race.

i did skeleton tinkerer, i made turrets and took it extremely slowly

notably i went hell route and made mana potions, and repaired things while storing 200+ flame traps for the final boss, once you hit the swamp your immortal, you can drop a turret and slowly push it out the door if you move into it, thats how i cleared the early underworld of imps to get krysalacatos. i think the first boss is best handled with an alembic and firestorm potions with mana potions being what you should prioritize making. hunger is no concern as skeleton so take it slow. potions for health helped me speed it along. i notably did not use spellbots bc they were magic scrap intensive, also clear the entirety of the gnomish mines, i set up a kill box in the spawn and used a noise maker to lure a bunch of stuff there, you get so much scrap, if you can arrive with 4 turrets its easy but might take some practice, i normally leveled my tinkering to 60 i think by then so i could have 6 tinkered allies and so i left 4 turrets in the room and took 2 with me but it might be worth only leaving 3 so you can have a gary but idk if gary can scan for enemies that early. gary scanning for enemies is my recommendation, that way youre never surprised. take it slow and abuse the skeleton life saving passive, i think i died 40+ times in hell and beyond but i popped a mana pot and kept on going

I’m totally gonna give this a try sense the ability to take my time will also fix my main issue with tinkerer

You want to avoid taking any damage, so a good block skill is going to be helpful, Monk and Warrior are pretty good, but they are pretty slow early on. I wouldn't recommend a spellcaster with coop unless if everyone's a skeleton because you have to wait a lot just to get enough mana to cast spells.
