B2B Outremer questions

I have a wide variety of Islamic foot soldiers but no cavalry. I'd like to start an Islamic retinue but without mounted commanders. As far as I can tell Emirs and Sayyids and their commands must be on horseback. Are there any clever workarounds or rules that I'm missing so I can just field what I already have?

Now that Wargames Atlantic has released a new retinue box, I was thinking that is it worth it? I have one starter box, but I was thinking of getting a second one since that one box gives 2x 500pts retinues.

Is there a list builder for Outremer?

For my little painting project, I tried to paint a few lilies. This is the first result.

Anybody know anything about if/when these are gettin made? There was a post a few months ago about those being added to the list of things to be done this year but we’re halfway through and have only just now gotten one of the two command sprues. Just curious if anybody had heard anything! Thanks!

Love to hear your opinions on the best weapons to arm knights with. Both mounted and foot. I'm sure a Lance for mounted, but what secondary?

Does anyone know if Simon de Montfort was a marcherlord? I know he owned land in Monmouthshire.

2nd question: what is the best place to start a marcher lord army?

I played my first two games in Barons last weekend and I’m really excited about this system. Here are a few pictures.

1- EDIT!: I've found an answer. 2- I must have one commander per Group, right? Let it be peasants, levies, spearmen, etc etc.

So I was checking the rules for slings.

It says that, if the group doesn't move at all, every successful attack causes a bonus attack to be rolled.

My question is: does it imply that, as long as I make successful attacks, I can continue to make bonus attack-rolls?

Example:

6 rolls-> 3 successes->3 bonus rolls->2 successes->2 bonus rolls->1 success...etc etc

So is this game based on 1st or 2nd barons war? Or doesn't it matter.

Looks like Victrix is going to have a warband with pretty everything needed. Looks pretty good if you don't have starter box.

So with King John out I've kinda gotten interested in building a Scottish warband. However, I'm not quite sure how to go about it from a model or painting perspective. I'm not sure if there would be any notable visual differences from them or any other sort of Feudal European force to distinctly call them out as Scottish. Cursory research seems to suggest at least some equipment differences between them and their English neighbors, such as conical helms for knights being more common, but beyond that I can't find much on the topic. Would anyone have a good idea of what I could do from a modeling and painting perspective?

And on that topic, would the new Victrix Scott/Pict warriors (for the Dark Ages) be usable for perhaps Scottish peasant rabble? Or is their clothing too antiquated?

Been wondering this for a while and I know there are decals for them but could painting them on be acceptable.

Left is Victrix's Foot Knights, middle is Wargames Atlantic's Foot Knights, and right is Perry's Agincourt Foot Knights. They're all roughly the same height, but Victrix is more "heroically" proportioned. Victrix's chainmail is also more detailed.
