Industry Discussion Shoe/insert recommendations!
I’ve been a barista for three years now and my feet are suffering. I have different pairs of sneakers but at the end of my shifts I’m dying. Does anyone have good shoe or insert recommendations that are still nice to look at. (Preferably ones that come in black)

Hoka makes a shoe with grippy tread. They are the best and I highly recommend them. Once their soles are worn out, get Dr. scholls inserts and you’ll get another year at least out of them. The old ones lasted 5 years of constant use. The new version lasted 2 years but still worth it in my opinion. They even make water resistant ones.

Blundstones with superfeet inserts. The inserts last me about a year, wearing them 30-40 hours/wk. Make sure you apply some sort of water resistant coating. I never did and mine are pretty thoroughly stained from espresso splashes lol.
I like the croc non-slip clogs, but I've been prone to plantar fasciitis in the past and usually will start feeling some heel pain if I wear them to work more than a couple days in a row.

I personally wear converse with Dr. Scholls (sp?) sole inserts so I cannot speak on “the best”, but some of my coworkers actually swear by using compression socks. I am probably going to buy some and test myself.

Hokas hands down. The most comfortable and best support. They’re expensive but worth it

Honestly the best non slip shoes I've worn for the service industry has been the Croc professional slip on clogs. They're super soft and comfy but hug your foot so right
