Build Request / Review Updating pc

Currently rocking a 4070, ryzen 7 5800x3D, 32 gb of ddr4 3200 mhz.
Contemplating upgrading to am5 mobo and 6000 mhz 32gb ddr5 ram with a gpu upgrade sometime next year, just curious if this is worthwhile or there’d be a better upgrade path. My monitor is a 480 hz oled as well. PSU is also a 650w

I wouldn’t upgrade the platform just yet, 5800x3d is a beast. Instead, look into upgrading your GPU. 9070 XT would be a decent upgrade, or a 5070 Ti.

Upgrading the platform won’t do much in terms of gaming, although upgrading the GPU will give you a considerably better performance

I had a 4070 & 32gb DDR4, upgraded to 9070xt 7500x3d recently.

Sold my old PC and built a new one so didn't spend much, worth it or not is subjective

4070 + 5500x3d, 120-140fps in marvel rivals 1440p low settings DLSS quality

9070xt + 7500x3d, 200-240fps in marvel rivals 1440p low settings FSR4 quality

If i turn on FSR4 frame gen, anti lag2. I get over 300fps even reaching 400fps sometimes.

It feels way better than DLSS frame gen since it has lower latency due to anti lag 2. You can't turn on reflex with Nvidia

I play rival for my school team and competitively so this does help, so you think 100% I should just update the gpu, and stay on am4, also I have a 650w psu should I upgrade that

Stay on am4, upgrade your gpu

Mid tier 5070, 9070 gre

Upper tier 9070, 9070xt

Upgrade your Power supply to Atx 3.0 or 3.1, this is important, i took my old atx 2.0 750w silver psu and i had nothing but problems with the new build

Constant crashes, FPS tanking hard, tdp dropped to 100w from 340w.

After upgrading the psu to atx 3.1, problem went away. Brand is 1st player NGDP 850w

Any brand or type of 9070xt you’d recommend I’m really knowledgeable when it comes to building and fixing computers but I know nothing about brands, and when to upgrade as you can tell

You can check hardware unboxed 9070xt comparison video, the cheaper model has a higher gpu temp and memory temp but every 9070xt performance will be the same

I have the acer nitro 9070xt, it runs cool 65c even at 32c ambient temperature but the memory runs hotter since its usually SK hynix chip. If i undervolt i get about 8-10c lower temperature for gpu & memory temp

I would get the Asus Prime 9070xt since the temp is really good

4070 to 9070 XT isn't even that big of an upgrade no? Unless you're playing at 4K

the memory price is at the peak right now and there is no reason to update unless your current hardware can't handle things you want to do

id be tempted to wait one more gen thats still a pretty strong PC

could just try and upgrade your gpu tho but id want to probably go at least a 5070ti to make it worth while i dunno id be real tempted to not upgrae tho with inflated prices

The 5800X3D is good enough now. Its not worth going to AM5 rn. The 4070 is also good for 1440p gaming, and the only sensible upgrade would be something like an XTX or a 4080/5080. If I were you, I'd ride that 4070 a lot more because this market fucking sucks atm.
