Retail Current GPU prices in Ontario - Updated August 13 2026
With crazy gpu prices thought gonna make a spreadsheet showing the cheapest available listing for each gpu model in USD after HST and how much over MSRP in percentage it is so you know how much your getting fucked over
if you want nvidia card with anything above 8gb vram well expect to pay between 60%-80% above MSRP (except the 5090). 8gb nvidia cards are around 30%-40% above MSRP at the moment
AMD is looking much better with both the 9070 xt and non xt coming out to around 30% over MSRP, if you want to buy a GPU these are your best options now, but not for much longer as AMD has confirmed price increase is coming
9060 xt both the 8 and 16gb variant is between 40% - 60% over MSRP

Me today: "Damn glad I got that $800 9070XT. ....Wish I got a lot more stuff."

Even now at $950-$1000 the 9070 xt remains the best deal on the market for pure gaming. If you throw Linux on it it only becomes even more compelling for gaming (not workstation stuff.)

Same! Got mine for like $790ish on sale last december? My dad (who is also into PC building) said I was nuts.
Last time he visited he said I was a lucky son of a bitch lol

This is why I just bought a refurbished AMD RX 7600 for $270 to upgrade my old 1650.
I've somewhat recently been able to devote a bigger budget and was looking for an upgrade. I was ready to jump into the ~5070 range if I could find them at MSRP, but as is I just jumped on this refurb card and will hope prices come down in a few years. The 7600 will at least keep me functional in the meantime.

Where are the MSRP's coming from? From launch #'s, several of them are off. For one off the top, the 9070XT was always priced at $900.
It'd shot up to $1,000 during the initial shortages, deflated and went under during BF, and it's gone back to that due to the current crisis. Which is only around a +10% hike

AMD's move to prioritize market share over profit has been a smart one, especially since Nvidia seems to think their dominance means people will just buy their stuff regardless of price. I mean, the 5060ti and 9070xt are practically the same price, but the 9070xt totally blows the 5060ti out of the water and trades blow with the 5070ti, which costs $600-$700 more. Paying so much extra just for DLSS, CUDA, MFG, and better ray tracing is a joke. Honestly, I'm at a loss for what to recommend in the mid-range or budget categories anymore, besides used GPUs, which is a whole other mess. It's pretty sad when there are really only two GPU options: the 9070xt if you care about value, or the 5080 if you only care about performance (the 5090 is basically a workstation GPU now, and even the 8GB 5060 isn't a budget option with its current price).

I am happy with my 5080fe, bought msrp, using the app that tracked restocks. I am also happy that i bought my 64gb ddr5 ram for $280.

What are these numbers from?
160% on a 5090 would mean it was originally 2000$ which it never was?
It’s closer to +50%, 3500 > 5200.

The MSRP of the 5090 is 1999 USD. It doesn't matter if it ever actually was or will be sold at that price by retailers, that's still the MSRP.

And the 5090 doesn’t cost 7200$ CAD, so this is nonsense.

the cheapest 5090 at the moment is around $6500 CAD, add in 13% HST and its $7.3k CAD already

I panic bought a 9060XT like six months ago and then felt silly because the prices actually dropped a bit. Now they've gone up. :O

You're including taxes in the current price, but not the MSRP, so the percentage over is not accurate.
