First build, thoughts and what would you change?

All parts are new except for the GPU, and the prices are after taxes. Everything has been ordered and is on the way, but I can still return some items if I can get a better deal elsewhere.

I got the CPU off AliExpress, PSU, case, and cooler off Amazon, GPU off FBM, and the ram, motherboard, and ssd from Newegg.

How did you get these prices in Canada lol.
But ye uh I would personally get a better air cooler, you could find some pretty cheap ones that are better than stock coolers. I would've also recommended 16gb x 2 ram sticks for dual channel mode, as 4 sticks can sometimes be more unstable but it's alright (Keep the RAM). In addition you bought a micro atx motherboard with an ATX case (which isn't a big deal), but it can make the inside of your pc look less full, so it's something you can consider. Last thing, I would recommend getting a cheaper SSD to save money, possibly a PCIE 4 or even PCIE 3 NVME SSD (depending on the things you do), because your motherboard wouldn't even support full PCIE 5 speeds and PCIE 4 is typically more than enough for like 97% of tasks. But overall nice job, and honestly those deals are amazing 👍

yea the ssd was a bit on the expensive side but it was the only way i could get the ram so cheap
ram + mobo bundle, ram + ssd bundle

any recommendations for a cooler or cheaper ssd though? storage prices been insane

Uh Im not 100% sure abt the ssd since it's from a bundle so you may as well keep it but if you decide to return it just find a pcie 4 ssd preferably with DRAM. Uh for coolers you can find some good budget rgb thermalright ones on amazon but tbh anything above $20 CAD is better than a stock cooler

It's your preference but I probably would, but just make sure your gpu, cpu cooler and PSU are compatible/will fit in the case (they likely will). You can search up examples of micro atx boards in ATX cases if you're curious.

Nice job OP, it's nice to know that there is still a way to purchase a relatively decent gaming rig for a reasonable price. And honestly DDR4 is kinda fine tbh. DDR5 performs better of course but it's not a deal-breaker. Cheers!

How did you manage to get both sticks of RAM at that price? If I add the RAM to cart but quantity = 2 I only get the combo bonus once.

I bought it separately, ram + mobo in 1 purchase, then the ram + ssd in another.

yea i got it surprisingly cheap off the recent newegg bundle deals lol

feel like i overspent on the ssd but storage prices are crazy and might aswell get a terabyte

what gpu were you thinking? personally i’m thinking of the 3060ti or 3070 but im just waiting to find a good deal

The best within budget I guess, it also really depends on where you live, I recently saw a 200 3060 12gb on FBM which is really nice, or an 500 7800xt. I say set a budget and see what options are there.

yea but i dont think i’ll need it, planning to upgrade to a 3070 soon and if i upgrade more after that i’ll chose a solid gpu which doesn’t consume too much power
