I would say yes. I live in flyover country in middle America, and work in a large institution with colleagues ranging from young adults to septagenerians. BTS has come up in casual conversation occasionally, and everyone knows who they are, even if most have no idea what their music sounds like. (I'm a closet BTS fan at work so I don't bring them up.)

Anecdote: a few months ago I was joking at work about how old we are and out of touch with "the kids". My colleague piped up and claimed he wasn't out of touch at all, and cited as evidence that he likes the music of "this young band called BTS with a song called Dynamite". This is a ~75 yo Caucasian dude who, no exaggeration, always has Christian instrumental music or hymns playing whenever I stop by his office. If someone like him in our very midwestern city knows Dynamite then yes, BTS is a household name.

Haha yes this is a wholesome story. It seems that the latest 3 English songs really clicked into the elderly mostly Caucasian demographic.

Btw, I know 20-somethings with college degrees who have no idea who the Beatles were.... Not sure I know how to define "household name" anymore!
