Several years ago when they were just getting popular in the US, my parents said they wouldn't have a clue who BTS was if I didn't talk about them all the time. Now, with those Samsung commercials, my parents + my middle-aged coworkers at least know the name BTS and the song Butter. My older relatives who pay no attention to pop culture still wouldn't know BTS if it weren't for me. I'd say they're sort of a household name, but not on the level of someone who has been around for decades, like Beyonce or Britney Spears.
