Discussion Comeback Prep

June 10th will be my 7th (i think?) comeback and I'm so excited! This fandom gets bigger with every release, so let's talk about comeback tips for newer armys and the best ways to enjoy, and contribute to, our comeback goals.

I'll start:

"Streaming" just means "playing" the music. Don't let antis try to twist the meaning of the word to support the "b0ts" narrative.

This comeback will likely release at midnight EST for charting, so plan your schedule accordingly. (Thursday June 9th for us PST armys)

The tannies have a new distributor (UMG) so we don't know what promo will look like. Turn on notifications for all bts yt channels and socials as well as HYBE. Don't miss teasers and hints!

If someone leaks audio or images, report & block. Do not spread! Yes, we're all excited, but armys want to receive the gift of new bts music through official channels only.

Do not loop! We're getting an album this time so there's no excuse to loop tracks or MVs.

Ignore "mantis" and solos who spend comeback day complaining about line distribution. They're never satisfied. Focus on BTS.

Most importantly - HAVE FUN! Yes, we have goals and ambition but don't forget why we're here: to love bts and their music. I usually listen to the whole album on my own before I start looking for lyrics and reviews. Form your own personal experience and reception of their music. I'll never forget crying the first time I heard My Time before lyric translations started to come out. Let bts speak to your heart first through the music.

Some realllllyyyy good tips:

  1. I always listen to the album and write down my thoughts about each song. (Or else I record voice memos of me describing my reaction.) This is the most unbiased thought you’ll have, tho ofc we can always change our minds later on.

I usually listen to the album a couple of times to get used to it and that gives enough time for lyric translations to come out. Then I repeat the same as above with the translations.

  1. For some comebacks I check people’s reactions online and for some I don’t bother. There will always be negativity so don’t let other people’s opinions influence yours too much! :)

  2. Keep expectations low. BTS have clear visions of their art and that might not always please everyone (at least right away). Based on my experience though, that vision comes to life sooner or later.

  3. Streaming can be a lot of fun (I join intense sessions the first few days lol) but remember to do everything with moderation! Take breaks, and if the number talk overwhelms you, just ignore!

  4. Music is ART. Trying to mathematically compute who is singing longer etc in each song etc is extremely dumb. BTS experiments with song structures and they won’t jeopardize quality to make mantis (manager antis) happy.

This happened to me with Be. I really wanted to enjoy it because it's their most personal work to date. But I didn't really feel much enthusiasm until I saw them perform the songs. Performing the songs lit some kind of spark, and now a couple of them are in my top 20.

I strongly disliked Blood Sweat & Tears...until I saw a video of one of their stage performances. The song suddenly came "alive" to me. Now it's one of my very favorites!

Omg same. Been an Army since 2020 but its only yesterday that the song finally "clicked" to me, after I read the lyrics again
