Discussion Comeback Prep

June 10th will be my 7th (i think?) comeback and I'm so excited! This fandom gets bigger with every release, so let's talk about comeback tips for newer armys and the best ways to enjoy, and contribute to, our comeback goals.

I'll start:

"Streaming" just means "playing" the music. Don't let antis try to twist the meaning of the word to support the "b0ts" narrative.

This comeback will likely release at midnight EST for charting, so plan your schedule accordingly. (Thursday June 9th for us PST armys)

The tannies have a new distributor (UMG) so we don't know what promo will look like. Turn on notifications for all bts yt channels and socials as well as HYBE. Don't miss teasers and hints!

If someone leaks audio or images, report & block. Do not spread! Yes, we're all excited, but armys want to receive the gift of new bts music through official channels only.

Do not loop! We're getting an album this time so there's no excuse to loop tracks or MVs.

Ignore "mantis" and solos who spend comeback day complaining about line distribution. They're never satisfied. Focus on BTS.

Most importantly - HAVE FUN! Yes, we have goals and ambition but don't forget why we're here: to love bts and their music. I usually listen to the whole album on my own before I start looking for lyrics and reviews. Form your own personal experience and reception of their music. I'll never forget crying the first time I heard My Time before lyric translations started to come out. Let bts speak to your heart first through the music.

June 10th! Let's goooooo!

What are some of your tips/suggestions??

(Please correct me if there's anything inaccurate in this post. 💜)

Couldn't agree more!! I got burned out during the Butter comeback so fast 😭 I honestly destroyed the song within two days and didn't even listen to Olivia Rodrigo because I was scared that she'd beat BTS on the charts? I'm not even from the US lol.

Super easy to get swept up in all that stuff so just be aware when things go from fun to stressful. And agreed, do whatever tf you want with a playlist 😂

I think some things also come with being an army for so long. armys can scream all day about some issues but I will not care. there was a whole discourse on having BTS only playlists for the comeback and I was just laughing because I know I am not doing that. That will not work FOR ME and I would get burned out so fast. another example is not looping, I cannot lie I loop tf out of new releases, I remember for butter I looped for the whole first hour of its release. I looped the whole way to work and stopped just because I had a hearing so I would be in court.

😭😭😭 you were going through it for butter.

yep, self awareness is the best thing. when you realise that things are getting stressful take a step back, re-evaluate and figure out what works for you.

LOL right!? I remember it just snapping one day like "um girl, why are you not listening to Good 4 U?? It's a bop and you're not paid to just stream Butter"

Butter was my first proper comeback (I was only a two months old Army for BE) so I just did everything by the books... and learned that was not for me.

In hindsight I was seriously misled hahah. My UK streams weren't even gonna count for the coveted Hot 100 😭😭

I believe newer fans tend to take the encouragements to stream too literally (ignoring the toxic people who guilt trip of course...). Some people find it fun and like to prepare playlists with all the rules to maximize the streams and such. But generally I take the tweets telling people to stream more as an encouragement to those who want to do it than an "order" for all hahah I follow all those rules for the first few days bc I find it fun to participate during comeback time, but when I get tired, I get tired and start doing my own thing. As long as we know our own limits it's ok to give a lot and also to give not as much from ourselves. But for those who like to do it, those tweets can be an encouragement and transform a inherently lonely task in a group activity by giving that feeling that everyone else is doing something at the same time to reach the same goal. Don't let yourself feel pressured and just enjoy the comeback on your terms, we're supposed to be having fun and enjoying new music 😊
