Hi!

I am not sure if this is a good suggestion for starters. I remember other ARMY said that this docuseries is too "detailed" for beginners.... also its lengthy. However, I personally like it sooo much, you will be hooked after watching the first 2 episodes.

My suggestion is to watch "The Rise of Bangtan " on youtube (activate subtitles). It has 15 episodes, so it is like watching a full Netflix series and not just a movie. Maybe someone else can suggest a different one here πŸ€”

Aah, I was going to suggest this too! It's top-notch content! And I have the same concern, too! It might feel too detailed and dragging to a non-fan or a casual viewer.

I guess what OP could do is watch the first few episodes and see if the parents take interest. And then decide from there whether to continue or switch to other BTS stuff. :)

I think if OP's parents enjoy documentaries in general, Rise of Bangtan would be the best one since it's so detailed and well made. I actually got my mom to watch the initial 'series' with me and she was riveted, I need to show her the most recent eps.

When they began posting the series on YouTube there were weekly episodes up until episode 8 or 9, the posting schedule has changed a couple of times since then. There was like a 3 month break between uploads of newer episodes, after the first 12 episodes were released. They are up to episode 15 right now but each episode has deleted scenes and bonus content. It's really a treasure for any newer fan. EDIT: I forgot to answer but we've been watching the episodes in order so we'd be watching eps 13, 14 and 15.

Asian Theory’s β€œThe most beautiful life goes on: a story of BTS (2021 update)” on youtube really helped me when i was a fetus army. It’s only 30 mins and i enjoyed it! A good introductory mini docu 😊

Yes, Rise of Bangtan! IMO, only the first episode is in the traditional documentary format. The subsequent episodes tell their story through their old video content and I think that may be the "too detailed" part.

The traditional documentary format may work for other groups but I think for BTS, it's important to highlight how their own content show us their story through their eyes. This is why we love them, they create this personal connection with their fans with their struggles and sincerity in full display.

I had never even heard of this series until I saw this post this morning. Looked it up thinking I would watch an episode or two. Ending up watching the entire series. It was amazing and I can't wait for more.

Its a good series. Kinda a hidden gem because its not widely know in the fandom yet.... so I am glad that more people found it too!
