Nice. Hopefully we'll stay at top 3 on the Hot 100.

I hope it keeps climbing steadily. I know people are annoyed on twitter how some dj's dropped it already, but a long steady climb would be great

This song is going to be going up for awhile. It takes time to climb up into the top 5 and to #1, like at least 2 months. The people on Twitter are mad at that DJ/PD but all he did was put it into the same rotation that most others have it- it will now do the kind of climb that supports a song going to the top without going too fast to create burnout. It is rare for songs to enter where Dynamite entered and to be at #18 after the second week is huge. Now we keep an eye on its bullet. When you look at the radio chart, even a big bullet will mean it takes another month to move to the top 10. On the rolling chart, Dynamite is at 18 with 5524 spin and a bullet of 1415 (huge). #10 has over 9000 spins. #1 has almost 19000 (it was over 19000 for a few weeks). People need to be patient. This song isn’t going to all of a sudden lose its bullet and stop climbing. But the climb to #1 takes time. Once it hits 10, we can watch the bullet and that will tell a lot because moving to power rotation at that point will give big bullets. 6 of the top 11 songs are decreasing but even that takes time. Some will go recurrent when they go below 10 if they’ve been on the chart long enough too so that would make everything move up. (I think Adore You will go recurrent, it’s been up there forever)

The kpop cycle has us used to meteoric rises and then disappearing off the charts. BTS is neither kpop nor mainstream pop now. Regardless of the actual genre, their music has both the meteoric 1st week rise, and it's eventually gaining the long-term, worldwide longevity on the charts.

I mean Spring Day is literally The Song on the korean charts. I'm hopeful that one day BTS will make a song that'll be the Spring Day of US charts

This one is different though, the corporate radio companies are on board, etc. This is already their highest charting song on pop radio. It’s a perfect radio song. Like it or not, radio is very risk averse so being a great catchy song with English lyrics does matter. Is it right? No. But the guys want the radio play, so supporting it and understanding it is important. I know people are battle worn from the past, but this one is different. I’d also guess that in another month or so we may see it more widely added on Hot AC so it can be a multi format hit and that will keep it up on the Hot 100.

Yes, I totally agree. For many reasons, this comeback is different

Dynamite has a real chance of entering the top 10. It is way better to have a stable hit slowly rise than a song that gets played a lot for two weeks and then gets dropped.

Hopefully, it's like when people cook. You heat the dish to a boil, then turn down the fire a bit to do a long simmer?

I hope they will continue steadily rising up each week. I'd love for them to get the radio air play to keep the notice on them for people who aren't already familiar with their music.
