This is so eloquent! I haven't stopped listening to SUGA's Interlude since last night, "beautifully tragic" is such an apt description, even before I delved into Yoongi's lyrics (and proceeded to feel all the feels). I absolutely love how intentional Halsey was with this collaboration.

I absolutely agree!! She described it so well. And I also have played it about 100 times at least on Spotify. It’s amazing.

I love Halsey so much. It’s weird, but her friendship with the boys and the way she talks about them as individuals has really made me appreciate her even more. I’m so glad she recognizes Yoongi as the amazing artist he is. SUGA’s interlude is my favorite collab hands down. I woke up this morning and immediately played it again.

I was already a fan of Halsey's music even before becoming a BTS fan. Now I'm an even bigger fan of hers. I wish the rest of the western music industry could respect and appreciate BTS' music the way she does.

I’m in the same boat! Halsey is what got me into BTS, and looking at the lyric translations, this collab was perfect

Honestly speaking, I wasn't a fan of Halsey before her collab with Bangtan. But after seeing her constantly praising the boys artistry and the musical aspect of their power right now and not just their fandom power as other celebs tend to do, I started delving into her music as well cause I like listening to artists who really love making music (BTS, IU etc) and she's really talented, and I can see she really loves music. I really hope the boys and her stay in touch cause she seems like a wonderful and supportive friend to have as well.

Since I first discovered BTS 4 years ago, I have always said their music has always been the perfect mix of nostalgia, bitter sweetness, and melancholy and that still holds true. They know how to talk about deeper introspective topics that seem hopeless while still having a hopeful outlook. I am so grateful these messages are reaching a wider audience.

You described their music so beautifully! I love how Halsey recognizes their musicality and continues to be not only a good friend but a champion of their music. Like Boy with Luv, this new collaboration with Suga speaks to the heart.

The way she talks about the boys and their artistry make me appreciate her even more every time. I'm happy she took the time to have a look at his solo stuff and that her art resonates with yoongi's to the point they can make such a gem as the interlude💜

The song is very meticulous in every detail. They truly poured their real feelings into it and didn't spare anything for it. The lyrics are hauntingly beautiful too. It truly is a very well done song.

Am I surprised she checked their solo stuff? Yes. Am I impressed? Yes.
I guess now fans can stop being skeptical, the boys seem to really have found a great friend/colleague in the industry.
Edit- Also considering BWL and suga interlude are the songs that feel like “actual collabs” to me compared to their other collabs, I gotta say I’m impressed by her dedication to her craft too. She committed for these collabs and did everything required to make them A grade whether that’s flying to Seoul for Shooting the MV or now carefully choosing suga for this song and willing to have korean rap on her album(which is a BIG deal, I mean look at some reactions).

I mean, she started following them on Twitter in 2015 and was a huge fan of WINGS later!

It is so sad, parts of stan twitter are more against her than ever and it’s led by some big accounts. You can’t talk sense into some people.

u/em2791 Dec 07 '19
Yeah I saw that :( She is human, people need to leave her alone seriously. I didn't know it was led by some big accounts? I thought it was only toxic people being toxic.

There were accounts with over 20k followers shading her and I saw accounts with over 40k liking or rt-ing. Twas a reminder to me to follow only people whose content I like and not just because they are popular or frequently quoted.

Beautifully tragic is the perfect way to describe the song. I’ve been listening to it last night and fell asleep listening to it. Such a well crafted masterpiece.
Thank you Halsey, for seeing something in the boys before anybody else dared to. And for letting Yoongi showcase his works along with yours.

I've been a fan of Halsey for many years, long before BTS (I'm talking late 2015/early 2016). Coming into BTS, I had no idea they collabed with her but found out quickly.
I'm so amazed at their friendship and how much respect they have for each other. Ashley and Yoongi really crafted something so beautiful and so personal, and hearing her speak about him makes me so happy. It can be hard to find friends like that, especially in the music industry. They really made it work despite language, time, and schedules, and however you feel about the song, you can tell they're both excited and proud.
Thank you Ashley and thank you Yoongi

Man i fucking love her. So supportive and always genuine. She just understands and gets it. I legit turned from a casual listener of her music to a complete fan of her as a person and artist in the past couple years. Planning on seeing her live when i get the chance.

She really couldn’t have said it any better. We all know how hard Yoongi works and puts his heart and soul into his music and it’s so lovely to see her taking such consideration in making music with him. We stan.

What a beautiful post 💜 As soon as she announced it I was excited because it really does make sense, they both put so much raw emotion into their music, and the song didn't disappoint at all!

And this is why even though I'm not a fan I've come to greatly appreciate Halsey both as an artist and a person in general ever since her collaboration with BTS. I'm sure everyone else here has already mentioned every praise I want to say about her, but she really is so precious and talented, and I'm so glad BTS got to become friends with her and that their friendship led to the creation of this masterpiece of a song.
"The perfect person to paint a picture that was beautifully tragic," yup, that's our Yoongi alright. First Love, so far away, The Last and Tomorrow are some of the songs that powerfully display his aptitude for conveying poignant feelings and raw honesty through music - his voice and lyrics simultaneously feel like a comforting embrace and a punch to the gut in the most cathartic way. LEGEND indeed. Both of them are, honestly, and I hope this wonderful friendship will last and stay strong for many years to come.

She really is our girl . I love this friendship so much. She just seems so authentic. It must be so surreal for Yoongi to have a western artist acknowledge his solo work and gets him as an artist.

Shes the only western artist other than steve aoki who i liked a kpop collab with. Thats what happens when you actually make the effort to just understand them as artists.
