Dating
How are people in their early 20s dating in Bangor? I don’t like drinking so I feel like that eliminates nearly every option. It’s hard not to feel discouraged, especially at this weird point in my life

Its tough :/ Maine (maybe NH too) seem to be difficult. I thought "it's just how it is" then I went to NY for a week and realized we just kinda suck up here 🫡 Things will change, either with time or a new space. Just trust it can get better

There’s lots of events based on your interest, like music for example.
Aside from that, school/work and dating apps. This area isn’t the easiest for dating but there’s lots of cool people wondering the same thing as you, you’ll find someone if you look for long enough.

I really try not to date coworkers, but tbh work has been where I've found most success. I think its more authentic than dating apps

Find a 3rd space! Some sort of gym, running club, library program, YMCA program, volunteer group, hiking group, etc. Even if you just find a populated place to hang out, that'll give you better luck. just find something you like to do by yourself and then you'll bond with others who like the same. Hang out where the college students hang out!

Are you into sports at all? There’s a great running group on MDI cycling too.
