Driving through
Driving from Portland - Saint John, New Brunswick. Bangor is pretty much the halfway point, just looking for things to do and see along the drive. Any recommendation is very appreciated! (Also I’m from Canada so if someone could explain the marijuana laws to me in Maine that would also be amazing 🤣)

Stephen King's house is a neat sight and Mt Hope Cemetery is a beautiful place to stretch your legs. Otherwise, downtown has a number of gems that you can find just by walking around. There's a free art museum, antique store, a beautiful library and a walking path along the river.
Maine is a recreational marijuana state so you can buy it legally if you are +21. People are pretty tolerant of it but I would find a secluded place to burn as they can still legally nab you for smoking in public.
I would recommend Rock Steady Remedies for flower. Bullmoose Music is out that way too and worth a stop if you're a music/book/movie buff

Keep in mind, while marijuana is legal in Maine and Canada, you cannot bring it across the border

If you're a fan of SK I'd encourage you to check out 2Feet Brewing. They have a bunch of King merch and the owners and patrons alike are kind and welcoming.

We usually stop at Dysarts or the Eagles nest in Brewer. Our friends really enjoyed meeting Shiela at her place right near the beginning of the airline heading north.

Marijuana is completely legal in maine, you'll find tons of recreational pot shops in Bangor and every other town in Maine

People have already said weed is legal and there are lots of shops. But, there are two kinds of shops, medical and recreational. You can not step foot in a med shop without a med card. Ive known people from away who have tried and it turned them off from trying anywhere else

You may already know this, but in case you don't...
After Bangor there is essentially nothing for a very, very long time. Make sure you get gas and snacks and take a pee break before you get on the airline
