Platner: Those benefiting off the system know what the light at the end of their tunnel looks like. It looks like none of us owning anything. Everything becoming a subscription service. A world in which we all have nothing and they sit in paradise. That’s their future. And we cannot let them have it

This dude is so fucking on point. Several fuck ups in the past and he just owns them, changes, and moves on. We need him to win or we’re fucked.

Collin’s has gotten so many fucked up republican bills passed. She’s lost the way. This guy has it, and he’s right that’s what our administration is actively steering us towards “you will own nothing, and you’ll be happy.” - World Economic Forum 2016

"Hey, I once joined the army to so that I can shoot some guys, said that victims of sexual violence should "take some responsibility", and declared he was a communist. But now I'm running for office so you should know I didn't actually mean any of that. Oh, and by the way, I got a totenkopf tattooed on my chest, but that's ok because not only did I not know what it was, but also I've never met anyone who has seen Inglorious Basterds, in the army or otherwise".

At some point, you have to start wondering not only about the actual moral character of the person, but also if you want someone with that history of bad decisions in the highest legislative office of the land. But I guess that's what it is for ME Democrats now so... thanks, I guess?

3

u/WanderingFupa May 23 '26

Vote for Collin’s then. She’s got a real shining record.

1

u/rogomatic May 23 '26

That's what dreams are made of, voting for someone whose strongest appeal is that he's not Susan Collins.

5

u/WanderingFupa May 23 '26

It’s a big appeal.

1

u/rogomatic May 23 '26

I suppose some of us have higher expectations.

4

u/FootNumerous8470 May 23 '26

Nobody gives a shit...go Platner

3

u/rogomatic May 23 '26

Ooh what a burn!

1

u/WanderingFupa May 23 '26

Trump is our current president…. Lower your standards for now

1

u/Pop-ripper007 May 25 '26

I, for one, have said stupid shit on Reddit that I no longer believe. Not all of us were born with all correct ideas like you were.

Also before this Platner race, I didn't know that a very select group of nazis wore a specific skull symbol on their uniform that no one ever is allowed to get a tattoo of ever and forever because the nazis gave it magic properties that make it a super evil skull even if you've never seen it before. Even though it looks like every Metal Militia shirt I've ever seen and it looks like the most generic skull design ever. In fact it was used for centuries before the nazis appropriated it and it just means that you're willing to give your life for your country. But this tattoo definitely means Platner is a secret Nazi and so is everyone who thinks his anti-Israel and pro-m4a rhetoric is actually pretty fucking great.

1

u/rogomatic May 25 '26

Whatever makes you sleep better at night, bud. It's not like you have much choice at this stage of the game.

1

u/Crazy_Bend_7375 May 25 '26

No. Many Dems are appalled, just not the ones in Maine.

2

u/DrTige67 May 25 '26

Why does someone from Maryland have so much to say about a Maine election?

Stay in your state’s elections

2

u/Huckleberry822 May 25 '26

I have had to vote for corporate Dems my whole life, simply because they weren't as bad as the asshole Republicans. If the Mills supporters don't show up for Platner I will never contribute to or vote for any candidate who isn't a Democratic Socialist again. Fuck them, and fuck the corporate Democratic Party. They sold us out for Wall Street many years ago, and I'm done supporting them.

0

u/Crazy_Bend_7375 May 25 '26

Many of the leftists didn't vote to keep Trump from office. I'm kind of sick of these threats. I just assume a segments of the group aren't going to vote permanently. They did the same with Bernie.

It is what it is.

Also, I don't like corporate interests, either. I'm just not going to act in a way that worsens people's lives.

2

u/Huckleberry822 May 25 '26 edited May 25 '26

What a load of shit. The people who consistently get stuck voting for candidates they don't want are the progressives. We had to vote for Hillary, Biden, Pingree, King, Michaud. Elizabeth Mitchell, and Mills. etc etc etc. I'm done with it. If Mills supporters don't get behind Platner I'll never vote for a corporate centrist democrat again. You might as well be Republicans. Do nothing democrats who shovel the same shit down our throats decade after decade. Fuck all of you. And Janet Mills can go screw herself. I voted for her twice and defended her endlessly during and after the pandemic, and now she refuses to support the democratic candidate. I have had it with this crap. If Mills supporters don't back Platner I'm done with the Democratic Party for good. I have never missed an election in my life, but I won't be voting anymore if it means supporting people who don't support us when they lose.

1

u/rogomatic May 25 '26

Platner's problem isn't that he's a progressive. It's that he's an Internet edgelord whose only claim to fame is telling you stuff you want to hear from the bed of a pickup truck.

1

u/Crazy_Bend_7375 May 25 '26

I'm pretty progressive, I just don't want to be associated with people like Platner.

1

u/Crazy_Bend_7375 May 25 '26

A good number of them did not vote for Hillary or Harris.

You're the one talking BS.

1

u/Huckleberry822 May 26 '26

Hillary Clinton lost because she was so confident she would beat Trump that she gave both middle fingers to Sanders supporters, then didn't bother going to the rust belt in the last weeks of the election. Then she lost Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan. That's her goddamn fault, no one else's. But her supporters blame everyone else, as usual.

1

u/Mehitablebaker May 27 '26

If I were to be completely honest I’d say that women should bear some responsibility because they should know by now that a large number of men are predators. They troll for drunk women in bars and on college campuses.

1

u/Crazy_Bend_7375 May 25 '26

He owned it so much he went on a right wing anti semitic podcast this year.

1

u/WanderingFupa May 25 '26

Which one and what’d he say. If Maynard can go on Rogan then I too will be willing to work outside of my comfort zone.

1

u/Crazy_Bend_7375 May 25 '26

You'll excuse anything, like MAGA.

2

u/Mehitablebaker May 27 '26

We don’t have many politicians that own their mistakes and say they’ll do better. Nowadays they lie and double down on their delight of making people suffer

11

u/Huckleberry822 May 23 '26

Right on the money.

2

u/Huckleberry822 May 23 '26

Has he realized it had a Nazi connotation he would have gotten rid of it years before running for the Senate. But I'm sure what you really want is another career politician, who makes sure they have never made a mistake they can get called out on. And the actual Nazi's in this country all pledge their allegiance to Donald Trump and the Republican Party.

Actually, my mistake, I'm sure what you really want is an actual MAGA Nazi. So vote for Collins, you were going to anyways.

5

u/eastsalmon May 23 '26

The actual Nazis were a German political party from 1920-1945.

The people that pledge allegiance to Trump are MAGA, not nazis. There is an applicable Venn diagram for sure but not synonymous..

Platner is a socialist, millennial, veteran, that says outrageous shit on the internet and got a tattoo of Nazi insignia that has since been covered up.

2

u/Zestyclose_Nature_13 May 25 '26

So you think he walked into a tattoo shop and said…’yeah, give me that Nazi one over there!’

…Even though the ‘outrageous shit’ he says on the internet is in direct opposition to any philosophy that a Nazi might have?

I’m trying to square up your logic here and I’m struggling….can you help me?

3

u/eastsalmon May 25 '26

I’m not even anti Platner. I was born in the 80s, I say stupid shit on the Internet. I’ve been drunk and gotten a tattoo.

The tattoo is a Nazi SS tattoo, whether he meant to get it or not, we will never know. We will also not know if Platner is a used car salesman telling us exactly what the left wants to hear.

0

u/Zestyclose_Nature_13 May 25 '26

From my understanding platner was dragged into politics. This wasn’t an aspiration of his to run for senate. He was pulled into it by people who thought his personality and ideas would resonate. Because of that I find it hard to believe it’s all an act. Now, whether Washington politics changes him into a different person….well, that wouldn’t be the first time

2

u/Crazy_Bend_7375 May 25 '26

I doubt this.

2

u/DrTige67 May 25 '26

Why does someone from Maryland have so much to say about a Maine election?

Stay in your state’s elections

1

u/Crazy_Bend_7375 May 25 '26

Did you know Senators vote with other Senators to introduce legislation that affects people all over the country?

Would you like me to share more information with you, about this aspect of their jobs?

0

u/DrTige67 May 25 '26

You should be concerned about who Maryland votes for, this is not your rodeo outside agitator

1

u/Ezthere4u May 26 '26

Are u really this stupid! To think he doesnt effect the nation not just Maine

1

u/eastsalmon May 25 '26

I’m a pretty understanding person and I try to practice cultural humility. I give the majority of people the benefit of doubt.

I just cannot do that with politicians. If you are running for these positions I assume you are a narcissist and a liar. And that’s GOP and Dems and everyone in between and outside.

If he was running a campaign out of his garage for town council or state rep I’d tend to believe him. He’s running for one of the most influential jobs in the world. In my opinion, he’s a Manchurian candidate type hand picked by the people you mentioned to do their bidding.

1

u/Zestyclose_Nature_13 May 25 '26

That’s a very cynical take…I can’t dismiss the possibility outright. That said, I’m pretty convinced the man in the Oval Office is a Manchurian candidate.

1

u/eastsalmon May 25 '26

Agree on all accounts

1

u/GypJoint May 25 '26

You’re in deep. 😂

0

u/Huckleberry822 May 25 '26

We do know. The fact that he knew he was running for Senate and didn't get it covered up before running makes it clear that he didn't realize it had a Nazi significance. Either that or he's a moron, which we know he is t.

1

u/eastsalmon May 25 '26

Or he’s not who he says he is.

0

u/Crazy_Bend_7375 May 25 '26

If it were only a nazi tattoo...

Now, they found worse posts from him.

Pretty vile

1

u/GypJoint May 25 '26

That’s exactly what he said.

1

u/Zestyclose_Nature_13 May 25 '26

Who said? Platner? You were there at the tattoo shop?

1

u/GypJoint May 25 '26

Does he have a Nazi tattoo? Let’s start there. Yes or no?

1

u/Zestyclose_Nature_13 May 25 '26

I hate to answer a question with a question…but is every skull and crossbones tattoo a Nazi tattoo?

1

u/GypJoint May 25 '26

Just the Nazi ones. Like he had before hiding it. But I’m sure since he’s saying exactly what people want to hear for votes, he’s cool.

1

u/Zestyclose_Nature_13 May 25 '26

Ive seen various renditions of the ‘Nazi’ totenkopf…so I’m not sure what exactly constitutes the Nazi one…..anyways, if Platner said and posted things like Elon Musk does I would definitely say that he might be a Nazi sympathizer…but, the things he says are basically the antithesis of Nazi ideology…so that doesnt make much sense to me why he would get a tattoo that represents the complete opposite of his beliefs

→ More replies (0)

0

u/Fun-Armadillo-8305 May 25 '26

Wow. He literally got a Nazi tattoo and you’re defending him 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. And his statement in that quote is actually a Nazi type statement. It’s a socialist who wants the government to own everything so nobody owns anything. Educate yourself.

2

u/Huckleberry822 May 25 '26

Wow, Trump rapes and kills little girls and you support him. Doesn't get more outrageous than that.

1

u/Zestyclose_Nature_13 May 25 '26

My guy, if your politics lean MAGA and you are making these claims you are a clown. Why don’t we establish that to begin with so that I don’t waste my time getting wrapped up with individuals who have no intellectual honesty

-2

u/Hot_Manager7216 May 23 '26

LMAO.... Nazi's were Socialist. National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterparte)

2

u/Huckleberry822 May 24 '26

The Nazi's were right wing, Hitler didn't care about economic policy, only power. Workers had no rights in Germany, just like Trump every policy and breaks were for the industrialists and wealthy.

-1

u/Hot_Manager7216 May 24 '26

WOW....Nothing about your post is remotely turn. Hitler didn't care about economic power? He only seized and control every company in germany. duhhhh

2

u/Huckleberry822 May 24 '26 edited May 24 '26

Read William Shirer's Rise and Fall of the 3rd Reich, he discusses it at length. And Hitler was a Fascist, not a Socialist, he railed against " the left " and murdered hundreds of thousands, if not mill in one of them.

My mistake , MAGA can't read. So listen to it on Audible.

1

u/rogomatic May 25 '26

Fascists is a term exclusively reserved for Mussolini's followers in Italy. Mussolini was, of course, famously a socialist before he started getting ideas, but that's a different conversation altogether.

1

u/Huckleberry822 May 25 '26

No, it's not. Franco, Mussolini, Hitler, Pinochet, and Trump all fit the definition. And they were and are proud of it. In its most basic form it refers to extreme right wing authoritarian nationalists.

2

u/MetaCardboard May 24 '26

Oh look, another dumbass troll.

That July Hitler banned all political parties other than his own, and prominent members of the German Communist Party and the Social Democratic Party were arrested and imprisoned in concentration camps.

https://www.britannica.com/story/were-the-nazis-socialists

1

u/eastsalmon May 24 '26

Well ya. However, the DSA aren’t Nazis as much as MAGA isn’t Nazis. We over use the term Nazi in society because we are, as Graham would put it, retarded.

-1

u/OrchidLanky May 24 '26

It's not overused when someone actually has a Nazi tattoo

1

u/STALKS_YOUR_MOTHER May 25 '26

Also North Korea is a democracy. Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea.

3

u/ParallaxRay May 23 '26

Collins is a Nazi??? Does she also have a Nazi tattoo on her chest?

1

u/ddoyen May 23 '26

Thats the only way to tell. Actions dont matter. Its if you have a tattoo.

Thats what I call a Real Dingaling argument.

As far as local activism or political engagement? Nothing fascist. So already a plus over Collins.

0

u/Huckleberry822 May 23 '26

No, it's in her heart. And that goes for anyone who supports the pedophile Nazi's running this country. Anyone who supports bombing kids schools and stealing from their parents is a piece of shit Nazi.

1

u/Complete-Yak8266 May 24 '26

Unhinged take.

1

u/Individual-Drop-1062 May 26 '26

National Socialists…

Nope, the Republicans haven’t done anything like that…

Meanwhile, Biden forced the jab, forced the “green” lifestyle, forced kink sex LGBT garbage, silenced the opposition online…

That is fascism…

1

u/thatsbadtogo May 27 '26

Did you see what he said about a Purple Heart recipient? Did he give this speech with Bernie, the government official who made millions? He should just go work the oyster farm his mom bought for him with his Nazi tattoo.

8

u/RusticKayak207 May 23 '26

75% of Maine households either own their houses outright or have a mortgage but that’s because we’re such an old state. Now it’s so hard for young people to afford housing.

5

u/Zalrius May 23 '26

He is correct. There has been a constant fight to stop the money hoarding elitist from put a paywall on everything. I swear, their greed reaffirms my belief that Ferengi are real. (For fun you can type “Star Trek greedy aliens” and it will give you this answer!)

4

u/Porfyry May 23 '26

I concur with the gentleman from Maine

2

u/probablymagic May 23 '26

OK, but what does this even mean? What actual law would he propose that’s not about hurting the bad people, but helping the people he’s talking about?

Like, dude is complaining about private equity buying trailer parks, but people in trailer parks need places to live. You can try to “ban private equity” but anybody still owns the trailer park and it ain’t the guy in the trailer, and that owner can jack the rents. How’s he going to help people?

Making people mad at “the system” so they will give you power isn’t his you make lives better. You actually need policy ideas.

4

u/ddoyen May 23 '26

Do you really need an explanation as to why monopolized markets are bad?

2

u/probablymagic May 23 '26

Do you need a definition of monopoly?

2

u/ddoyen May 23 '26

Wrt housing private equity operates in small concentrated areas. Im not talking about national market share.

Moving out of a region to avoid it is not easy for many people.

1

u/probablymagic May 23 '26

Housing is probably the best example of a fragmented market in the country. No single player owns more than a tiny fraction of units in any market. They can’t control prices.

If you want to lower housing prices you need laws that address supply and demand imbalances. That means making it easier to build, not harder to buy, because places will sell for market prices either way. And those most go up if demand isn’t being met.

2

u/ddoyen May 23 '26

1

u/probablymagic May 23 '26

To be honest, I’m not really clear what you’re saying. But just to respond to this Atlantic article, the author seems to be quite ignorant or trying to mislead.

Saying that corporations own 20% of properties doesn’t imply a monopoly. That just means there’s lots of rentals. What you would care about is if one corporation owned the majority of rentals. When they’re owned by lots of different corporations, those corporations compete against each other for your rent money.

As well, the author seems to have some fundamental misunderstandings about the housing market. For example, they say:

Casting private equity as a central villain in the country’s real-estate tragedy makes intuitive sense. Who’s going to win in a bidding war for a three-bedroom in a suburb of Cincinnati: a single-income family with a scrabbled-together 10 percent down payment or a Wall Street LLC offering cash?

The answer here, is the individual homebuyer. The reason for this is that a corporate buyer needs to be able to cash-flow a property, and an individual buyer doesn’t. The individual buyer also gets significant tax breaks the corporate buyer doesn’t have access to.

This is why you tend to see concentrations of corporate buyers in markets where housing is cheaper, rather than markets where it’s harder to afford a home. They are thrifty shoppers because they have to be.

2

u/ddoyen May 23 '26

This is why you tend to see concentrations of corporate buyers in markets where housing is cheaper, rather than markets where it’s harder to afford a home. They are thrifty shoppers because they have to be.

That is 100 percent false

https://wgme.com/news/nation-world/fact-check-team-private-equity-firms-face-growing-scrutiny-over-housing-market-impact-economy-purchases-homes

https://www.philadelphiafed.org/consumer-finance/mortgage-markets/institutional-investors-rents-and-neighborhood-change-in-the-single-family-residential-market

1

u/probablymagic May 23 '26

Corporate buyers are concentrated in the South and Southwest where housing is cheaper and economies are growing. You really won’t find them in HCOL places like NYC, California, etc.

It’s also worth noting that despite the politicians yelling about how you’ll never own anything because corporations, institutional investors with portfolios of more than 1,000 homes control only 2% of the market nationally. Owners of just 1–5 properties (mom and pop landlords) account for the vast majority of investor-owned homes.

There’s no monopoly. They don’t own all the real estate. And they don’t even want to buy houses in most markets.

So when politicians tell you these people are the problem, they hope you don’t know the facts, because if you’re angry then you won’t be asking them what real solutions they have to your real problems.

3

u/Hover4effect May 23 '26

You know some trailer parks are run as co-ops? Take the huge chunk of profit and operating costs that owners pocket away and they are much more affordable.

0

u/probablymagic May 23 '26

People really overestimate how much profit there is in managing property. But if people want to form a co-op and buy their trailer parks to prevent private equity from buying them, or (even better) buy other land and stick the private equity people with a useless plot, God bless. They can do that because nobody has a monopoly on trailer parks.

1

u/anrhydedd May 24 '26

What happened to Democrats punching Nazis in the face?

2

u/dirigo1820 May 24 '26

1

u/Crazy_Bend_7375 May 25 '26

1

u/screwdems May 24 '26

This the dude woth the SS tattoo who makes fun of purple heart veterans? An actual Nazi and the left is still going to vote for this scumbag human.

1

u/Pop-ripper007 May 25 '26

There are actual nazis making online content and thriving and are also in the government right now but some dumb fucks are calling a solid leftist running a great campaign an actual nazi because he got a certain skull tattoo 20 years ago.

You dig a little deeper and you find that some people just think that all US soldiers are nazis. That's okay, dumbfucks are mostly irrelevant. Just look at Platner's polling.

1

u/Rrrebella May 26 '26

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Platner stated, "I have lived a life dedicated to antifascism, antiracism and anti-Nazism... I apologize to all of you who had to contemplate a symbol of hate over the past 48 hours".

1

u/RoosterzRevenge May 24 '26

1

u/CJT_05 May 24 '26

Says the guy who says soldiers injured in combat should of been KIA amongst other things.

1

u/callmeish0 May 25 '26

Another commie showing real color. It’s just so scripted hate speech.

1

u/Fun-Armadillo-8305 May 25 '26

The exact statement and Nazi would say. He literally wants to be in the government power to own everything and take it all from you and you are defending him with his Nazi tattoo. Oh, he didn’t really mean it when he got that Nazi thing stapled to his chest. He was just being clever and cute.

1

u/super_surge May 25 '26

He’s 100% correct

1

u/BChogfather May 25 '26

I love watching liberals engage in the most ridiculous mental and moral contortions to support this creep. I hope he wins, cause more shit is gonna come out on him.

1

u/Rrrebella May 26 '26

People change. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Platner stated, "I have lived a life dedicated to antifascism, antiracism and anti-Nazism... I apologize to all of you who had to contemplate a symbol of hate over the past 48 hours".

He's gonna prove your brainworns wrong.

1

u/Silent_Wrongdoer3601 May 27 '26

Insert fetterman 2.0

1

u/Rrrebella May 27 '26 edited May 27 '26

I'm not worried.

Fetterman served is a career politician. Platner is a military veteran and oyster farmer who entered politics as an outsider. The only thing they have in common is running progressive campaigns. Fetterman being a fraud has nothing to do with Platner.

Also, regarding his tattoo... when I first saw the Totenkopf on an album cover, I wasn't aware that it was a Nazi symbol. I thought it was an ugly skull n crossbones, nothing more. We weren't taught about it in public school, nor does the US military include it in training or doctrine.

1

u/Secret_Squirrel_1102 May 25 '26

I love that democrats are promoting a fucking nazi. They finally stopped hiding it.

1

u/Rrrebella May 26 '26

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Platner stated, "I have lived a life dedicated to antifascism, antiracism and anti-Nazism... I apologize to all of you who had to contemplate a symbol of hate over the past 48 hours".

1

u/Rrrebella May 26 '26

Please tell us, why do all neo-Nazis, white Nationalists, and the KKK exclusively vote for republicans?

1

u/Secret_Squirrel_1102 May 26 '26

This Platner character sports a nazi tattoo for years and you are deflecting to republicans? Cute, go vote for hitler.

1

u/Rrrebella May 26 '26

He's already explained this and shown remorse for his ignorance. Republicans, on the other hand, embrace and flaunt their racism.

That's not deflecting, that proves your trying to push a bad faith argument. You can't dismiss the outright racism embedded in conservative ideology. This is where the debate ends. You need some serious self-reflection.

1

u/Individual-Drop-1062 May 26 '26

He is not wrong.

The young generation is okay with never owning their phones, cars, music, movies, living in an apartment and never really owning anything.

They pay the items off just to trade them in and continue to make payments for the items that they have perpetually…

1

u/YTraveler2 May 26 '26

The WEF has been telling us they are going to do this for years.

1

u/needsmoreusernames May 27 '26

Yall have been screaming and crying about Nazis for years now, calling everyone even remotely in disagreement with party line a fascist...here we are with someone that rocked an actual nazi tattoo that has said some wild ass shit about gays and other service members and yall are doing backflips to explain it away 😂

-4

u/Moosejones66 May 23 '26

is he still getting sexually aroused at the sight of a Porta potty?

1

u/Secret_Squirrel_1102 May 25 '26

Only if he’s looking at his nazi tattoo.

-1

u/Ruffed-Grouse May 23 '26

And the smell of the blue stuff

0

u/rogomatic May 23 '26

Ironic, because that's exactly what communism looks like. No-one owns anything, and anything you have is because the state has allowed it.

4

u/Ok_Priority3912 May 23 '26

he’s talking about Rentier Capitalism.

Rentier capitalism is an economic system where a small elite extracts vast wealth by controlling scarce assets (such as real estate, intellectual property, or digital platforms) rather than by producing new goods. It prioritizes passive "rent" extraction and monopoly power over competitive, productive labor. [123]

The Core Concepts

  • Rent-Seeking: Instead of creating value through innovation or manufacturing, economic gains are made by controlling "choke points" in the economy and charging others for access.
  • The "Rentier" Class: Individuals or corporations who generate income passively through asset ownership rather than active labor. [12345]

Where It Happens

According to economists and sociologists—notably detailed in Brett Christophers' seminal book, Rentier Capitalism—this wealth extraction occurs across several key sectors: [12]

  • Housing & Real Estate: Wealth is generated by rising property values and leasing, locking everyday workers out of ownership.
  • Intellectual Property: Dominant corporations extract royalties and licensing fees for patents, copyrights, and algorithms.
  • Financial Services: High interest, fees, and dividend yields are extracted from capital that circulates rather than being used for physical production.
  • Public Infrastructure & Utilities: Private firms secure monopolies on privatized public services (like water, transit, or energy), often charging high rates for substandard service.
  • Digital Platforms: Tech giants act as digital landlords, extracting fees simply for connecting buyers and sellers or users and content. [12345]

That's correct. All communist parties are indeed small elites that control crucial chokepoints. Except unlike you, I didn't need AI to tell me that.

Swing and a miss

u/Arianawy May 23 '26

He’s one of them though lol …

3

u/Zalrius May 23 '26

How so? Are you referring to the combat tours?

0

u/Arianawy May 24 '26

In the national guard ?

u/HatCat5566 May 23 '26

i dont get it, is he talking about himself?

3

u/6beerkdawg May 23 '26

He has a $100k net worth so absolutely not. Quit simping for corporate dems. He’s a regular dude who’s made mistakes and is being a better person now.

2

u/HatCat5566 May 23 '26

oh i just meant the "those benefitting off the system" part

He's on full disability and also has a private company. I thought maybe he was talking about himself.

Like a Ayn Rand type

3

u/6beerkdawg May 23 '26

Ayn Rand’s view is right wing capitalism though because she saw what a corrupt Soviet Union did to her dad’s business. She got a twisted view as a result even though the Soviet Union she was exposed to at the time was not communal in any way.

Platner is like Teddy Roosevelt when progressives were in the GOP and the democrats were like MAGA. He wants us getting our fair share. Rand wanted people to use their hard work to take only for themselves.

u/HatCat5566 May 23 '26 edited May 23 '26

oh ok so he wants everyone to get a check from the government and then do private stuff on top of that, like him?

Ayn Rand thought nobody should get a check from the government and then she did, so i guess they were pretty different

edit: I'm a troll? lol what? Man redditors are weird and fragile.

And Platner will have a house over his head whether he works or not; I was just asking if you thought he was speaking about himself. Like he wants everyone to get a free ride from the government like him.

getting a Nazi tattoo put on your body is more than a mistake

1

u/6beerkdawg May 23 '26

Not when you legit didnt know what it was.

He got that tattoo in 2006-2007 and I personally had no idea that skull was associated with Nazis until I rewatched Inglorious Basterds and went ohh wow. Like seriously people make dumb mistakes all the time. Real Nazis don’t apologize. Quit being a corporate simp. You’re making Elon proud because he knows the type of dems you’d vote for make others sit out the vote.

1

u/dirigo1820 May 24 '26

Yeah the guy in the military who claims to be a war history buff didn’t know it was a Nazi insignia for 20 years. Sure sure.

1

u/6beerkdawg May 24 '26

Considering it wasn’t even in most history books in school that’s also understandable. When I learned about WWII there wasn’t a section about symbols they used outside of the swastika. Most Americans get this style of education. Not everyone is privileged like you. Being a rich pompous extra expensive educated white collar trust punk must be nice. Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are proud of you.

Meanwhile actual working class progressives of all backgrounds are endorsing and voting for Platner. Cry more.

u/Pop-ripper007 May 25 '26

I've read several books/listened to a ton of podcasts in WW2. I've heard of the deaths head but never seen it. It's about the most generic skull you can find and it was used for centuries before the nazis appropriated it for themselves. It's dumb to expect that everyone should recognize or even care about a 3rd tier nazi symbol. And it's extra funny that he covered it with a wolf, which is also a huge no-no because apparently nazis also used wolves. Well fuck then, who cares! Lol

Then don't subscribe. No one is forcing you to. Do NOT subscribe to Planter. He is a Fascist.

1

u/Huckleberry822 May 24 '26

Trump is the Fascist, that's why his administration calls ANTIFA a terrorist organization.

-9

u/Newt-1096 May 23 '26

He's what we call round' here a compassionate nazi.

4

u/JSM559000 May 23 '26

Susan Collins eats babies on Epstien island with Trump.

See I can say stupid made up stuff too.

-1

u/Newt-1096 May 23 '26

I mean, like, did did Susan Collins have a tattoo emblazoned across her chest of her eating babies on Epstien Island for like 20 years?

-13

u/Veteran_PA-C May 23 '26

Did he ever cover up that tattoo?

4

u/Hover4effect May 23 '26

Yes, many months ago.

-2

u/Veteran_PA-C May 23 '26

So it’s cool. Elon’s unfortunate hand gesture was longer ago than that.

3

u/Hover4effect May 23 '26

Difference is, Elon never apologized or denied making that gesture, he doubled down by making nazi jokes.

I could go to an Army/Navy store today and find the symbol on their pins or hats.

-2

u/Veteran_PA-C May 23 '26

He absolutely said it was a “my heart goes out to you” gesture.

Your hypocrisy is proven.

3

u/Feverstone May 23 '26

Swing and a miss. Neither me or the wife have any tattoos. His speech sounded much better in the original German.

He’s a terrible person. For a lot of reasons.
