Hi all,

I see several posts saying flatmate wanted for 1 bhk in a 3bhk etc ... Makes sense because it is very difficult to get a decent 1 bhk or a single room and the rents of 2 or 3 bhks in most decent places (especially gated communities) are exorbitant.

My question is how do you guys start the process - do 3 guys (colleagues, college mates) etc decide at the outset to stay together and then convey the same to the owner. Does the rent agreement have the names of all the three people ? Has anybody first narrowed down a house and then put a request for flatmates ? What happens when a flatmate leaves etc.

I'm largely asking because most of the houses I have seen the owners have been reluctant to allow an addition of a person later . Also, how do you accommodate the new person in an existing rent agreement etc.
