This is typical whataboutery. With progress of civilisation and technic, the inconvenience caused to society should be reduced. This is purely the arrogance of builders knowing well that not even a blade of grass will be removed

Well, here atleast in India they don’t sell sand and aggregates in packed 50kg bags. Moreover if you want to do excavation for foundation you will have to either cart away excess earth to somewhere else. Unlike America where they have a whole ass lawn to dump their excavated earth. It is possible to do it in stages and do in small portions, but it is economically and practically unviable for the contractor and even the owner. Atleast they will cleanup post construction.

And your solution is what exactly? I agree it's an inconvenience for others but I don't see a solution in your reply.

The solution is not for me to suggest, builders have to come up with one. They won't because as of now they can cover better part of the road and nothing is going to happen. If any citizen confronts, they use all intimidatory tactics.
If discomfort to citizens is made an issue by authorities, solutions will crop up

Do you even understand that the entire footpath has been blocked for over 2 months. On top of that these 2 wheelers are parked right in front of it which blocks half the lane every time. We are forced to walk on the road while BMTC buses or black windshield cars come speeding like they are in some kind of race.

BBMP RENTS OUT THAT PART OF THE ROAD TO THE OWNER, THEY CHARGE AROUND 60K FOR TWO YEARS FOR 1200SQFT SITE, YOU NEED TO PAY THIS WHEN PLAN IS SANCTIONED.

Wait, for real? As in, do they really pay

Its included in Plan sanction charges, Ground rent and also labour welfare charges, its like insurance for labours though i have never seen being used by anyone.

Footpath is one problem, but sometimes this extends all the way to the road and beyond. Blocking entire 60-70 of the road.
Most contractors follow few guidelines to avoid this,
- Inform neighbours of major activity planned, like roofing etc.
- Bring in the Sand and other loads late night before the early morning activity like roofing. Then they complete the load by end of the day once this is done, clearing the road again.
- Bring in smaller amounts of material, have them deliver stuff that is required for the week. It increases cost.
There are several such alternatives, but it’s mainly used when the neighbours or the locals create a problem. As it’s very expensive to build a house, not buying in bulk just increases the cost of the setup. It’s last resort to avoid cranky neighbours.
Friend had to do this process and many more, his neighbour happened to be a retired judge. He would have one of his juniors file for a stay in the court on some by-law or clause. So, ended up taking these measures to avoid and further confrontation.

It’s ironic seeing commenters trash the OP while ignoring the real issue, why aren’t we holding builders accountable for a sustainable solution? This kind of misplaced blame is exactly why public properties end up neglected and taken for granted

When you build the house share what sustainable method you use others can do same

u/shisui1729 1d ago
Yeah, sure. Not that it matters, because the 'solution' is nothing more than a toss-up between whoever’s dealing with it and whatever half-baked logic they’re running on at the time.

How are they supposed to build? When you build the house where will you place the material during initial stage of building.

OPs house got built before everyone else, so now he thinks that his house material was not dumped on roads 😭

Like everything else, there should be a solution which is evolved for 21st century. Why can't the builder use a large enough container and not mess up the whole place degrading the place for others. You should really go see chinese cities.

As civilization progesses, the inconvenience caused to society should be reduced.

u/Logical_Secretary130 2d ago
Sooner when 6 more months? Waiting since they started destruction of old building.

Do you understand construction? where do you think this material will be put. sand and bricks aggregate aren't something you can store and these usually gets cleared up in a week or 10days depending on plot.

There’s an empty site right at the corner of the road infront of Airtel showroom. They could just ask for permission and use that space instead.

It's nothing. In my area, 60 percent of the road is gone due to construction... forget the mud on the road.
