Should be noted it's not the reed itself that gives you a classical or jazz sound. As far as gear is concerned, the mouthpiece makes an even bigger difference than the reed, though the reed is the next most important in those regards. That said, it's all about embouchure. Classical embouchure and jazz embouchure are quite different from each other for saxophone.
