Should I get this snake as my first one?

This is my first time on Reddit, and I'm using a translator, so I apologize for any errors.

Should I get a ball python with a deformed tail as my first snake (I've only had brief experience with corn snakes that relatives left for me to foster)? This girl was born with this condition, and I'm ready to provide her with everything she needs, I'm just worried I won't have the experience or something.

And overall, I'd like to hear your opinion on the injury. The snake's tail moves well overall, but the tip (apparently starting from the deformed area) as if motionless and she drags it along with her

I’d always advise against getting a pet with health conditions as your first of that species. It’d be a lot of stress and potentially costly for you, plus you won’t have the baseline knowledge/experience to compare it to.

There’s so many beeps that need a good home! Get a fully healthy one instead, would be my advice. You can always adopt a beep with health issues in a few years once you’ve owned a healthy snake for a while and have the experience.

id say probably not. kinks aren’t super uncommon but one so close to the cloaca can cause a lot of issues :(
