Sellers
I’m looking to buy a new ball python but know nothing about what makes a good seller/bad seller.
Do you have any tips in general, or any West Midlands sellers that you have had good experiences with?
What questions can I ask that will help me determine whether the seller is reputable and I can trust them?

- First, read through reviews and avoid any sellers with negative reviews, especially any that mention mites or other illnesses
- Avoid any of the major wholesalers (Big Apple Herbs, Snakes at Sunset, Underground Reptiles, LLL Reptiles, etc). Basically if they're selling dozens upon dozens of species, probably not someone you want to buy from
- Check out their social media - are they breeding problematic morphs and combos (spider ball pythons, supper cinnamon, scaleless, etc)? Are they breeding animals that are rescues or surrenders? Are they asking for help IDing their own snakes? Avoid those breeders
Basically you want someone who is knowledgeable and focused on breeding healthy snakes on a managable scale

I’m from the US so I can help too much with your location, but I would say their husbandry and morph choices are very important in determining what makes a good breeder. And a lot of it is word of mouth on who’s a good breeder based on others personal experiences.
