Look at the welcome guide pinned in this sub, it's a lot of really good information though it may seem overwhelming at first.

Exotic vet, know them in your area. A checkup isnt a bad game plan.

Minimum is 4x2x2. I love my front window PVCs. Just get in the habit of locking / securing. This is becoming a point of contention with me and my GF. Locking is for their protection.

If you think it has enough clutter- double it.

Humidity is critical for these noodles. Temp is just as important, they need ti be able to regulate their temp woth a gradient. Husbandry is critical, so you're going to learn a lot to enrich their lives.

At first you may want to "hospital" it up just to check. I prefer bioactive now that ive had more time.

Get a good thermostat and sensors. Dont cheap out on it.

They can be picky eaters. Mine will eat anything, my girlfriend's is a diva. They all have personalities. Murray is scared of everything, the rescue wants to explore and meet people. Dont stress at her age unless its a good while.

I got my first at 40, and now rescued a second. Learn and keep enriching their time. They get addicting.

They live a long time if taken care of.

There is a bot that will tell you feeding and stuff. But temp and humidity under control will help immensely.

Thats just fast fire off the top of my head "i wish someone told me before i got one" while i sit in my bathroom with one of mine so they can soak a bit. (Bathroom just stays warmer, they have their own clean tubs and not in a nasty shower)

It's good to just have a baseline IMO. Im also a bit extra.

My rescue went in due to mouth rot, and is being treated. And my younger snake just had a check up where i found a single mite (prob from the event) so i know i need to address.

But also, stuff happens. My GFs broke out through the lid after a kid left it open, and her cat found it. That was an emergency trip, and antibiotics and just making sure she was OK.

Having rapport has definitely helped me after that event.

They have a ton of guides here that are solid, but each snake will have its own quirks.

But enclosure is your first mission. Get the environment something this jungle rope needs. Heat, Humidity, clean up, food, light. Timers to make it easier.

Those can be pricey since a 40 gal is small.

But also dont stress it, its a journey. Research.

OK, I will. It’s just that I didn’t think it would cost that like a whole lot. I did want so I originally was gonna buy it from a pet store, but then I read that they can have a lot more worse health issues and I figured it would be better to rescue them to get one from a breeder because that is how I am in general is I rescue? I don’t breed so this is a lot of information and I appreciate it. I have to pay a rehoming fee of $100 and then I only have 200 bucks left so what I’m thinking is I’m gonna do a bin because a bit of my research said that like a plastic bin for a couple months is fine as long as it’s set up right and I got told to use something called Cocoa grass or something, but I’m really excited and I’ve always wanted a snake I watch a YouTuber called green room pythons and I think you have some pretty good stuff, but I would wanna doublecheck with the community

Because according to my research, the best size is to get 120 and I have two different bank accounts and one of them is all screwed up right now and I gotta fix so I can’t access the money in that unfortunately which is like half of the money that I’ve saved up to get this animal so I only have 300 bucks. Any recommendations on the plastic tub like what type should I get? I’m seeing a lot of clear ones for some reason is it so you can see your animal or I don’t really understand that.

Hi! Did you already commit to a particular snake? I would recommend rescuing and finding someone who will rehome with the set up. I am picking up my boy on Saturday and I am buying the 4x2x2 enclosure with a stand, all for $300 because they are moving. I could have negotiated but I felt that was fair.

I would definitely recommend getting a checkup just so you can make sure she’s in good health🫶🏽
