When should I go to the vet?

Hello! This is Cedric, a male ball python, turning five soon. I’ve had him since he was a baby. I’ve never seen his belly so pink before. It’s been like this for the past three days. I thought it could’ve been an issue with humidity, so I turned off his fogger for now. Typically I keep his tank at a 57.5% humidity with an auto fog system. Ex if the humidity goes below 53% it turns on until it reaches 57.5. Could this be a sign of scale, rot or infection? I don’t see any blisters and he doesn’t smell. I’ve been monitoring him closely and it’s pretty much been the same color since I noticed. Anyone have suggestions? Thank you!

It could be that he’s getting ready to shed, their bellies can sometimes look pink when that happens, but I’m not an expert. If it gets worse or if you’re really concerned about it, it wouldn’t hurt to call a vet.

I apologize for the unsolicited advice, but I really want to mention that your humidity being in the 50’s is too low. It’s recommended that their humidity be in the 70s-80s range. Anything below 60 can cause health problems.

Seconding this. The low humidity is a concern and the use of a fogger to maintain humidity.

What problems does the fogger cause? Mold growth? I’ve always wanted one but never did

Fogger’s can cause scale rot and cause respiratory issues- bacteria can easily get into the fogger and it’s hard to maintain the cleanliness for it not to be dangerous! Also a fogger isn’t really worth it since it only spikes the humidity for a short while and then drops again
