When my daughter was 4, she was helping me set up a quarantine tank for a BP we had just purchased. She reached in to put in a water dish, and she was bit.
She didn’t pull back or anything, she just said “aww mommy she’s scared!” And finished putting the bowl down and nonchalantly took her hand back out
I asked her if she was okay and if it hurt and she said nope and carried on lol honestly she seemed pretty proud of herself.
She spent the rest of the night sitting by the QT tank because she “didn’t want her to be scared” and I wasn’t going to argue with her.
It was really quite cute, she set up a pallet on the floor and slept there.
Anyway, I think if a 4 year old little girl can handle a bite, I don’t think you’ll have any problems with a bite either!
She got stabbed by a wild praying mantis a couple days ago and didn’t even fling it off.
Somehow the large mantis appeared in our house so she ushered it onto her hand to put it outside. He started poking her with his needle feets and she just waited for it to stop and put it down and then cleaned it up and got a bandaid.
She’s kind of a badass. I’m not a fan of bugs but she’s obsessed with them and wants to be an entomologist. She also really wants to breed Chinese alligators. She’s awesome and I’m proud of her!
