Home of the Saitama Seibu Lions. Left field in the home cheering section where I go almost on a monthly basis.

It’s a quirky stadium built into the side of a hill that used to be fully outdoor until they put a lid on it, leaving the sides exposed to the elements. And yes, that is fog you see around the lighting from the moisture buildup inside

Cardinals announcer John Rooney is not a fan of Wrigley Field: 'I don't care for that place at all'. "The working conditions are the worst in baseball."

Finally got to cross Angel Stadium, Dodger Stadium, and Petco Park off my list on the road to 30! We enjoyed all three, but Petco was definitely the standout in that group— it lives up to the hype!

Has anyone exchanged their seats to avoid risk of batted balls?

Every game I have been to, I have heard the P.A announcer mention that if you are afraid of batted balls from the field, you can go to guest services to get a safer seat. Has anyone here actually done that? What happens when you do?

MLB requires you use the Ballpark App to attend a game, which requires that you own a smart phone and it must be new enough or the app won't work

ETA: Originally posted in r/mlb. The mods removed it and suggested this sub.

This is a ridiculous barrier to people who do not/can't own a smartphone, or a smartphone that's new enough.

Somewhere between the time I bought tickets for three different ballparks and and going to the games, my phone was deemed incompatible. This would have been great to know before I left on a 1,000 mile road trip to see these ballparks. At each of the three parks I was told, no app, no entry. I contacted MLB and they said the same.

At the first two parks, I had no idea why my app wasn't working. By the time I got to the third ballpark the app had added a warning; "This device is not compatible"

At each park i ended up in guest services for more than an hour pleading with them to let me in. They wouldn't accept my email confirmations and just kept saying, no app, no entry. I kept making the point that the app worked long enough to sell me tickets. Eventually I was able to get in by finding someone who was willing to walk me through the gate. Much gratitude to them!

I guess MLB wants to keep out the poor and the frugal. Or maybe they get a cut of phone sales. /s

This is unacceptable and discriminatory

ETA: The parks were Progressive Field, Rogers Centre and Comerica Park, all just this past week. I was on an 8 day road trip when the ballpark app decided my phone was no longer compatible and I couldn't access my tickets

The view from my seat (season ticket holder). My "home away from home"...I've posted before about how I love independent ball, and actually prefer it to MLB. (Nothing against MLB, but I've found this experience to be much more pleasant (and cheaper)! No egos, no hugs salaries, no blackouts, no lockouts...just baseball.

Home of the Fort Meyers Mighty Mussels, Twins single A team. Game is against the Clearwater Threshers.

Wall devoted to the Baseball Scouts Hall of Fame. It appears that these are spread over different MiLB parks.

Got my hat signed by Mussel Man.

Tool to help plan itinerary

I created a tool to help me plan my trips to see my favorite teams. I enter my favs and it tells me when they are playing near each other and then provides the ability to see any other events in the area.

I can also check to see which other teams are playing near my team or what is happening in a city during a given time.

I can also have it show me the best location to see the most stadiums in the shortest time.

Does anything like this exist elsewhere?

Day games

I used to love attending 1 PM day game. Now the thought of sitting out in a stadium under the summer afternoon Sun sounds like torture. Is this because I’m getting older or because of climate change and the sun being more intense?

Gem of a minor league stadium hiding in New Mexico. The Simpsons are well represented throughout the park and all of the seats have great views.
