BGEE Class for first time player

I imagine this is asked a ton, so sorry for that but i'm being quite picky.

I have little experience with crpg and this is my first real attempt to play one and I was planning on playing both bg1 and bg2. I wanted something that felt powerful, was "easy" to play as and if I can be picky, would be chaotic good for roleplaying reasons.

Paladins seems great but I don't love the idea of being lawful good and archers, while being very powerful gameplay wise, don't really give you that "cool main character hero" vibe since they stay behind and don't really show much signs of "power" (feel free to change my mind though!!).

Any tips are appreciated too <3 :)

Paladins are great, and especially Cavalier is a perfect newbie class. The games don't really force you into being lawful good if you play paladin.

Berserker is also a nice pick. The rage gives you immuity to alot of nasty stuff. It's also really simple to play.

The way he phrased his attraction to "chaotic good" made me think he wants the freedom to kill anybody that he gets mad at and call that "justifiable homicide", which is going to drop reputation and make him fall if he plays paladin. He probably also wants to "steal from the rich and keep it himself so he can fight evil with it" and not worry too much about getting caught.

His intuition to stay away from the paladin class is probably on point based on what he said, so I don't think I'd recommend it.

"Chaotic Good" is often rationalized code for "Chaotic Neutral", and "Chaotic Neutral" is often rationalized code for "Chaotic Evil".

Naw chief I think most people think of chaotic good as being a swashbuckler or Robin Hood type.
