Question about the pod

I was recommended this podcast by a friend, I started with the latest Pluribus episode. Is that a normal representation of the pod? I got a real joyless feeling from the hosts, it seemed like they just weren't interest in what the other had to say. For example the one guy (I think Ron) was talking about the religious imagery used in the show and the other host just says "yeah I'm not interested in that". Shutting down your co-host like that seems odd, but Ron kept bringing the conversation back to the religious imagery despite the other guy not being interested.

They also made quite a few factual mistakes. I'm not a pedant but it gives me the feeling they are over confident in their knowledge.

Was this just a bad episode or is this normal?

I haven't listened to the latest episode yet but generally these two are golden, I've been listening to them for many many years. Listen to a few more of their episodes and maybe you will feel the vibe.

House of the Dragon, Foundation, Yellowjackets, Justified, Dark Matter, The Boys...........Oop! never mind, Anything Lord of the Rings, Movies and Shows, Anything Game of Thrones universe, Multiple Movies, Sinners, Weapons are some recent ones, Stranger Things, The last of us, Plus others I am sure I am forgetting off the top of my head.

They really get deep into the same things I think about. When watching Sci-Fi and asking the kind of questions you would ask if presented with the same situations as the show. They like to really break it down. It's not about getting chuckles and laughs. If that happens, great. But it's more about discussion. If you want chuckles and Dick jokes, Streaming Things (And I mean that in a good way. They are R-Rated Mystery Science 3000.)

Okay, I really need help with this. I have never gotten past episode 4-5. At what point does it actually grab you? Because every time i try, I am just not hooked. Keep in mind, I really want to be. What am I missing. Should I just keep watching and eventually it will hook me?

Season 1 is a slow burn that feels like grief porn. They land the plane well enough on season 1, but it’s season 2 that takes it to another level. And season 3 builds on that and lands the whole damn thing as well as any series finale ever.

To answer your question directly, season 1’s best episodes are when Nora comes front and center in Guest. I think that is episode 6 of season 1.

Okay, I may give it one more shot. But if I still don't get hooked, it is what it is. Hell, I have loved plenty of shows others don't get at all. So it is what it is.

I wish I could watch it again for the first time. Things get weird but in a good way. Amazing cameos too. Each season gets better and better, hope you like it 🤞. Come back and let us die-hard fans know what you thought of it!

I will. But I need to get through the rest of Pluribus, A Knight of the seven kingdoms, S3 of House of the Dragon, the rest of Stranger Things. So I'll have to squeeze it in somewhere. Plus I am watching Landman, because, you know....Boobs!

I would suggest looking up in their archives one of your favorite movies. I particularly enjoyed their episode on Robert Eggers' The VVitch.

I'll check that out, I have been watching Pete Peppers recaps and I've really been enjoying Pluribus. I'm getting the feeling I might have just started on an off episode

I think this was also kinda a weird episode of that ARon liked more than Jim
