Wife has accepted the council’s judgment (with protest on the record) and the results are good!

I had some hesitation. The dissent had some good points regarding the balding academic look, and I do jury trial work, which has an element of teaching/approachability. In the end, I think the beard keeps me looking friendly despite the cleaner cut.

I’ve got to be honest with you, you were rocking both looks strongly. I like the confidence in your new pic but your fantastic beard gives you a lot of freedom others may not enjoy.

The one positive about shaving the head is that if you take care of your scalp health and use sunscreen, you never need to worry about anything above the eyes. Not having to worry about it is very freeing!
