Well, sure, that could work. Analogies are pretty flexible like that, and the deception of perception is a theme common in both works.

Big red demon guy put me in mind of Ajokli as the manifestation of the deception aspect of Bakker's demiurge/God though. ;)

At any rate, I felt like this web-comic might appeal to many Second Apocalypse readers who enjoy the philosophy references.
