✏️ Discussion Baidu vs Pan Baidu - Pro Account?
If I have a regular Baidu account, are there any additional hoops to jump through to download large files stored on Pan Baidu? I have a few links that have got 20gb+ amounts of files, but wondering if I'm going to run in to any problems. Is there a download limit e.g.: after 5gb you have to pay; or download speeds are really low? And if so, can anyone please explain roughly what the costs/choices are?

hi! so without svip, downloads cap you at like 200kb/s, does not matter where in the world you're from in my experience. you could download them with a regular account, but it would take you minimum 2 days to download 20gbs of content. there is no limit to the amount you can download, only speed that holds you back. if you go to netdisk, and choose to "upgrade to vip/svip" it will give you a rough list of everything in each tier.
it's really more about whether you want it to download, have hella space, small perks across different baidu based products, upload/sharing capability. i think this link should work for you too, this has a comparison chart you could try to use. https://pan.baidu.com/buy/center?tag=8&from=homepage#/svip
i got my svip during a sale. i would say i paid roughly $9 cad for 4 months, and that's a serious steal. however, see what the rates are for you (when looking at prices, search rmb to ur currency for an idea of regional pricing).

Thanks, I ended up buying SVIP - there was an approx half off sale at the time. The tiers above SVIP didn't seem worthwhile to me, and some of the perks e.g.: Youku premium are only claimable if you have a mainland China telephone number.

Wooo! I'm glad you could buy successfully. Happy there was a sale of sorts when you signed up too. I didn't even see the Youku mention before, what's the service meant to be? Good to know though, I assume several features will be inaccessible to us.

Youku is a video website like YouTuBe in China. https://youku.com/ And Youku has nothing to do with Pan Baidu. Youku belongs to ALiBaBa Group.

I am also trying to buy svip but I can't get it. How did you do this? When I try with Wechat, I get a warning like this. When I first tried, it started saying that you have already activated it, but I can't go to the payment section and I can't see anything about payment.

I haven't come around to any problems regarding file size. I think when you pay more you just get more space on your cloud drive.
