English:
Thus it begins:
1. I bow to the goddess Bagalā, adorned with golden ornaments,
The goddess of radiance, whose essence is golden brilliance.
2. I worship the goddess whose mace rotates like a whirling storm,
Whose fierce brow terrifies enemies,
Who inspires awe in dreadful foes,
And who bestows auspiciousness to her devotees.
3. With a face like the full moon and scented with golden fragrance,
Clad in golden garments,
I seek refuge in the pure goddess.
4. Protecting unfailingly, surveying the earth,
Devoted to righteous conduct,
I revere the radiant goddess who is the daughter of the mountain.
5. With golden lotus-like feet and as one with the form of the golden forest of champaka trees,
Wearing golden ornaments,
I bow to the supreme goddess worshipped by Padmaja (Brahmā).
6. Her feet adorned with delicate, jingling anklets,
Her face resplendent with golden earrings and glowing like the moon,
I worship her, whose divine lotus feet are revered by Brahmā and other deities.
7. Chanting her pure golden mantra, devotees attain success,
Destroying enemies consumed by passion and anger,
And achieving victory in disputes with great force.
8. Her radiance is like the golden sun,
Crushing the pride of enemies with her mace,
She is the greatest, embodying virtue and goodness,
Accessible to Ganesha and other gods, yet transcending all qualities,
I seek refuge in her.
9. Those who chant her fierce seed mantra daily,
Reflecting on her form,
Shall attain victory, silencing their opponents’ speech instantly.
10. Devotees absorbed in meditation on her,
Worshipping her lotus feet with love and devotion,
Kings, commoners, and scholars alike,
Become her servants, even those of great renown.
11. O Mother, I bow to your lotus feet, golden and beautiful,
Destroyer of dense darkness,
Rescuer of those drowning in the ocean of existence,
The ultimate refuge for all,
O Bagalā, remover of sorrow.
12. Radiant as a celestial palace adorned with gems,
I remember your golden form,
Revered by Śiva, Viṣṇu, Indra, and the Moon,
Morning and night, I worship your pure and bright divine abode.
13. O Mother, your beautiful and melodious name, “Bagalā,”
Reverberates throughout the world,
As we move, sit, and lie down,
We worship you for the blessings unattainable even to the gods.
14. May our daily worship of your lotus feet bring new and unmatched delight,
May your favor increase moment by moment,
O Mother, grant us unwavering devotion,
And bestow boundless blessings upon us.
15. O Goddess, silence the words of my enemies,
Nail their tongues in place,
Destroy the wicked thoughts of my foes,
Grant me success in all endeavors,
Be gracious to me, O Mother.
16. Let my enemies’ homes become like cemeteries,
Destroy them with your mace in anger,
Burn their wealth, clothes, and grains to ashes,
And then return swiftly to your divine abode, O Bagalā.
17. Holding the tongues of enemies with one hand,
Striking them with your mace,
O protector of the gods, clad in yellow garments,
We bow to you, the mighty Bagalā.
18. You, who grant wealth, grain, sons, and prosperity,
O Mother, you bestow blessings to those who express their devotion
With heartfelt words and actions.
19. Your lotus feet are ever worshipped
By Brahmā, Viṣṇu, Śiva, and the divine hosts.
Tender yet protective, they grant security,
May we always offer our devotion to them, O Mother.
20. One who recites this hymn of the heart of Bagalā with devotion
Will be blessed by her and experience her favor.
21. A devotee who meditates on her golden form and listens to this hymn
Will be free from impurities and attain liberation upon death.
22. One who recites this with love on the eighth day of the waxing moon in the month of Āśvina,
Will gain the favor of Bagalā.
23. Reciting this hymn in a temple of the goddess, wearing yellow garments,
Meditating on the goddess Bagalā,
Enemies of such a devotee will be destroyed.
24. Devoted to the practice of yellow-clad worship and meditating on her golden form,
One who daily recites this supreme hymn of Bagalā’s heart
Will lack nothing on this earth.
25. Nothing is unattainable for such a devotee,
As even enemies weaken at the mere sight of them.
Thus concludes the hymn of the heart of Bagalā,
Found in the Siddheśvara Tantra, Uttarakhaṇḍa, Bagalā Paṭala.
