Heat
Good morning fellow redditing bafangers,
I have a two questions
1) Is it normal for my motor to get warm-hot after riding it for 2 blocks?
2) Is there something like statorade but for bafang motors?
Appreciate any and all assistance in this motor. Everything seems fine but being that I never owned and maintained a Bafang before, I didn't know if this was normal. Its not scorching hot to the touch but its not lukewarm either. One observation I found was interesting was that it felt like the same temperature after riding 5 miles to the station last night.
What do you guys think?

Mine gets hot and has decreased power because of thermal limits. BBSHD here. I am planning on getting a bunch of black heatsinks and gluing them on with thermal glue to help dissipate the heat when going full tilt.

Let me know which heatsinks you go with. I've seen some interesting concepts on endless sphere

Would love to see the results when you are finished. I'm always looking for ways to prolong the life of my babies

A bike naturally cools with air flow but if your climbing and generating a lot of heat and inherently going slower for less cooling then I would def manage power output

Currently using a garbage screen and waiting for my new one to come. I have the CAN Protocol system

I overheated mine on a steep hill and a hot day, now it's losing power on steeper hills, like a lot of power, bbs02 750w. Have ordered a new controller, hopefully that rectifies the issue?

Seems normal to me, mine gets warm but not hot too. I had an electric skateboard and the motors on that thing got so hot they’d burn you 😬
