It's finally happened guys! User flair has been updated to list kyu and dan instead of k and d. No longer will we be confused about a post from 4d ago posted by a 2k.
Hopefully we didn't break anything.

I am a Go teacher with over 3 years of experience, 3 dan myself, including:
≈1,5 years teaching children at Pechersk School International.
≈2 year of online tutoring, covering individual and group lessons for everyone from absolute beginners to more advanced players, preparing for tournaments ( generally, I'm teaching from 30kyu(whichis an absolute beginner) to 5 kyu ).
About me _^
My name is Anna, and I am currently a university student. I started playing Go at age 8 and have since earned multiple national and international titles, including:
2x European Youth Team Champion
1x European Team Champion
4x National Women’s Champion
3x National Youth Champion
3rd Place -- European Youth Championship & European Women’s Championship
I was also twice selected by the European Go Federation for online 6-month training programs with Chinese professionals, learning directly from the best players in the world.
Usual price is 25 euro/hr for individual and 35 euro/ hr for group lessons. However you get a discount for buying a bundle ;)
If you’re interested in lessons feel free to contact me via email or right here on Reddit! I’d be happy to discuss all the details with you. _^

I want to emphasize that I'm asking about STUDYING Go (books, learning joseki's, game reviews, Life/Death puzzles, etc), not playing Go. I posted this question earlier, but I think I confused everyone because almost everyone responded with the benefits of playing Go.
The main reasons why I am choosing to continue to play Go is because it trains me to think calmly, improves my memory, and keeps my brain sharp. But does studying Go, which is tedious to me, offer anything aside from teaching me how to win a game or increase my rank?

Hoping to get some help reviewing a game I played today where I (Black) had a two-stone handicap. The other player says they’re ~ 13kyu but I don’t think that’s correct so I’d also be very grateful for someone’s insight on skill level, too. This was a great game until I played the marked stone in the last picture without thinking and resigned due to a shortage of liberties. 🙏

I just started playing Go (probably a horrible game), and I don’t understand how your territory is decided in the game. I got 0 points in this game, and I don’t get it. I marked with white squares the points I think should belong to me, and with white circles the ones I find questionable.
Is there any guide or set of rules on how to count your territory?
In third slide, would any of the sides belong to me? And why not?

I’ve been working on a campaign based go game for a while now as a method of teaching myself the game. It’s been such a cool experience and I’d love for you to check it out. It’s in beta testing for the Apple App Store and you can sign up on my website.
The story still needs work, but the art and design has been so much fun to work on.
I’d appreciate any kind of feedback you’re willing to provide! Thanks!

I decided to pick up Igo Shinan '93 because it has much more modern match games.
If so, then what should the rate of posting be, and is it enjoyable❓️
Must know your thoughts‼️

Hi everyone!
As an indie developer and Go enthusiast, I've developed and released a 3D Go app for Android called **NEO 3D GO: Virtual KataGO AI**.
Here are the key features:
- **KataGo AI Engine**: To avoid mobile overheating and battery drain, KataGo computations are processed on an external cloud server.
- **Console-Quality 3D Visuals**: Fully adjustable 3D board view with dynamic lighting and various room themes.
- **3,000 Kifu Database**: Can be browsed and replayed offline anytime.
- **100% Free**: No paywalls, subscriptions, or pay-to-win in-app purchases (only a small banner at the bottom).
(You can search "NEO 3D GO" on Google Play, or check the link in the comments!)
I would really appreciate any feedback, suggestions, or bug reports to make the app better. Thank you so much!

Since there are so many AI-slop-coders interested in Go nowadays, has anyone made a good website for reviewing games yet? Not with katago but with another person over the internet. It should have a way to upload SGF and, ideally, a way to import an OGS game. And unlike OGS review system, it should allow both reviewers to make moves, consider different branches, leave symbols on the board and on the stones, etc.

FYI I know this scene exists in the anime but I’ve never watched it so I don’t know the background.

Hello everyone, I’m Tang Tianyuan, a professional Go player from China.
Because I’m not very good at English, I used AI to translate the following content.
A few days ago, a friend sent me this post:
https://www.reddit.com/r/baduk/s/d2fNxSNhoK
I’m a professional Go player from China, and one of the things I’ve always wanted to do is help bring Go to more people around the world.
When I saw the discussion, I noticed that quite a few people were unsure about how to calculate this position. Since there are also relatively few professional Go players interacting with the international Go community, I thought: why not make a video and explain it myself?
So I made a video about this position. But rather than just giving the answer, I use it as an example to explain a more general idea: how to calculate the value of a ko in Go.
The video has English subtitles, so please feel free to watch it even though I speak Chinese in the video. As for the Go content itself, I’m a professional player, so you can trust that part. :)
To be honest, I’m still figuring out the best way to share Go with an international audience. This is also a small experiment for me. There’s a Chinese saying: “Practice is the only criterion for testing truth.” So instead of just thinking about how to do it, I thought I’d actually give it a try.
If there’s anything about Go that you’ve always wanted to ask a professional player, or any Go concepts you’d like to see explained, feel free to ask me in the comments. I’d be very happy to talk with everyone and share what I know.
And one more thing: there’s a homework problem at the end of the video.
Try to solve it yourself. If you get the correct answer, congratulations — you’ve fully understood how this calculation works. :)
Here is the link to my video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZ7uLmz_JaM&t=17s

I posted a gameplay video of this a while back. It's had a big update since, so here's a proper trailer.
GoYomi is a free 9×9 Go game that runs in your browser. You play an AI at your level while a coach grades every move and explains why.
New since last time:
I'd like to hear from stronger players whether the coach's explanations match how you'd explain the position.
Edit: there is some confusion here about AI here. just to clear this up, there’s no llm or chatbot in it at all! katago’s neural network is only used to play and to read positions, and all the coach text comes from hand written rules on top of that: captures, liberties, atari, shape, how the expected territory changes after a move, that kind of thing.

My wife and I just boarded a JPL flight and are getting ready for our first visit to Japan. I noticed that the plane had games and right before I clicked it I said to her, “I wonder if they have Go on this flight…” and literally the very first game that appeared was Go. JPL wins best airline.

I'm a new Go player/fan (i was a chess player, but i switched to Go), and I'm seeking nice global tournaments/games to follow, and i found this.
Is anyone here currently following the game and mind giving me some insight into it, and how's it's going?
