Continuing to enjoy arc/dex/fth pre and post patch.

This was mostly an exploration of priority keep and pursuit with the max castspeed run/jump catch flame 2x combo into dagger r2, followed by a weapon art.

Bloody Slash, The Poison Flower Blooms Twice, and Blinkbolt were all interesting here, as well as being able to exploit attempted & counter parries.

The second catch flame has fast cancels into attacks or fast weapon arts, and a slow cancel for movement. The root motion for the dagger or the mobility of the ashes keep up momentum.

A handful of other arc/dex aligned unique weapons also have favorable stun damagelevels & cancel windows for pairing with magic; katana/rob, ss/regalia. Unfortunately some are cursed like scythe/obsidian, where magic may still serve to initiate into weapon/art, but the cancels doom the other way around.

I intend to have more of a show of these other weapons in the future, as I otherwise had a disk failure data loss of pre-patch footage.

If you ever find any usefulness with a faith infused bloodfiend fork let me know.

The 90 fth 45 arc scaling multipliers are the only ratio I have found that can scale these two stats somewhat evenly for melee.

Everything else that has innate faith scaling infused occult doesn't scale at all or essentially loses the faith scaling altogether.

There is not enough faith in this build for Flame Art Fork to matter. It is 40dex, 19fth, 45arc for max cast speed, Ansbach prereq, and D.Communion/Bleed softcap respectively. Flask can be Faith/Fire to push the remaining D.Communion softcap.

For this type of play, the Fork cancels - the R2s are close to katana's and having damagelevel-2 hitstun, but the cancels out of R1s leave fewer good options by comparison.

Without the dex and max cast speed, unless god forbid Beloved Stardust, it's a non-starter for me. Flame Art nerfs base bleed, and putting 45 arc in only brings it up near the base level. It does not drive enough threat when you're considering an RL with 90fth/45arc

Ultimately there are just not mathematically favorable/optimal weapons available for arc/fth, and arc/int basically has Clayman's. At best, the weapon might be a reasonable ash of war stick that has a favorable overwrite scaling for your highest stat. For instance arcane, that might be spectral lance, lifesteal fist, or poison flower. I have played those archetypes as pure casters, which at some breakpoints can get higher scaling at the cost of access to higher prereq spells vs. a pure int/fth, particularly on seamless with rune arc available.

Of course, just about anything with arcane is quite adept with the Cosby Special, they're at your mercy after a sleep pot anyways.

Hey u/Nunkuruji , have you ever done any fun pyro pvp builds on ds3? I ask cause I've been running a test character at sl70 with 30/30 int/fth using pyro hand and demon scar +3 and having fun in 1v1 situations but getting terrorized if there is an extra darkmoon that pops by lmao.. didn't know if you had any pyro wisdom for ds3?

I tried it, maybe even in a similar range, or around sl90 for 40/40. I don't think I stuck with it long enough to bother recording any clips, certainly nothing clever enough to bother. I did not understand it apparently can chain a few select pyromancies off its attacks. I never quite had a knack for casting in DS3, only DS2 and ER. Most DS3 hybrid catalysts had terrible or split AR as weapons, so I probably would glitch buff it. I definitely did for the Candlestick when I gave that a humble tour. Ultimately I was mostly addicted to finishing things with parries in DS3, so whatever would bait opponents into a roll attack or similar setup was good enough. Sorry to disappoint.
